Guest guest
Okay, I have been trying not to whine, but here I go again. I was diagnosed with RR MS in 1997. At that time, I had optic neuritis. They put me on prednisone. Almost immediately after the ON subsided, I had another flare up and went numb on the left side. Just numb from the upper chest to the toes. I was able to walk, but felt like I was walking on a log or stilts. This lasted about six weeks. I chose not to do prednisone that time, as the results the time before were not all that desirable. Fast forward to this year. I started a flare up on December 17. Numb on the left side, but with the pain thing where no one can touch me without my going through the roof. Also having muscle spasms. Started LDN on December 19. Got advice that it might be too high (4.5mg) and stopped it for two days on December 26 and 27. Started again on the 28th at 3-mg and am still taking it at that dose. Back to a BB diet, which was wonderful before when I did it. Doing supplements recommended by Dr. Lawrence. Anyway, it has been 4 weeks today since this flare began. The muscle spasms/stiffness are the same, though they improve as the day goes on. The pain is better, but the heavy/numb thing is getting to me. Perhaps I don't want to know the true answer to this, but have you folks done this and come out somewhere near normal function? I know that before, it was 6 weeks and I was pretty much back to normal, but this time it seems more serious...deeper. I have read that this can resolve, and about an hour after taking the LDN at night, I can feel nearly normal in the effected foot. I know also that LDN can actually increase the symptoms and perhaps I should not have started during a flare up. But I have heard that this may stabilize after a couple months. Thoughts?
