Guest guest
Hi Bert, I am having a nice lazy morning. The sun is shining although it is cool out today. I have to get myself in gear soon. I am giving a baby shower with 2 other neighbors, for one of our neighbors expecting in April. Last evening we got together and set out the punch bowl, cups, plates, napkins, centerpiece and big coffee maker. Today we have to finish setting the cake, and numerous other goodies on the table. Also, have to pick up the corsage for the guest of honor. The hard part will be cleaning up. Since we are using all glassware and silverware, it will all have to be washed. The punch bowl is the most awkward thing to deal with. The base is huge and I always feel like I have a hard time holding on to it. The bowl itself is not much better. I always get into a panic mode before having something like this. I know it will be fine. But I will be relieved when it is over. One of my neighbors is a clinical psychologist. She informed me that she was still seeing perfectionistic tendencies in me by the way I was placing the napkins. I told her that I only go for perfectionism when it is something that I know I can accomplish. And that becomes less and less in my life. Well, hope you have a good weekend. Keep closing those doors! There have been times I have felt like throwing in the towel. At best, life can be difficult and sometimes it seems the fight is way too hard. I am so sorry you are feeling the mental stress of worry and financial stress of paying for your meds. Most of us know only too well how expensive prescriptions can be. I have a deep concern about what will happen if I ever find myself without adequate insurance to help cover this great expense. Just co-pays alone amount to several thousands of dollars a year for me. Bert's jokes do help lighten our worries. I am praying that you will find the help you need. Take care. Carol Hi Carol, Hope you're having a nice morning..... Thanks for saying that my jokes lighten the worries. It's nice to know that. Take care..... HUGS.... Guest guest
Congratulations on making so much progress toward stopping smoking! Keep it up, girl. You'll eventually get there. Then we can get together and celebrate! Take care. Carol sunshinedotson@... wrote: In a message dated 2/27/02 11:51:01 AM Pacific Standard Time, joangardaclaffey@... writes: .. As far as the smoking goes, I once again have fallen off the wagon. I must say I have cut down quite a bit. How are you feeling? I hope this finds you well. Joan Claffey NJ Don't fret, try and try again! I do! I am down to only 1 a day, or every other day.....hang in there! At least you are trying, and that is whats most important! Ann gave me a great idea for quitting smoking. I will share it with you. When you light 1, take one or two drags off of it, put it out. When the urge comes again, light the same cigarette and repeat the first steps! Keep doing this and you'll see that you'll be able to cut way, way down! Also, lighting the same cig. twice? tastes pretty bad, so thats better yet to quit! Hope you can try this. Let me know how it goes! Have a great day! Never stop trying! HUGS..... Guest guest
Bert - Thanks for your help and support I have a big question to ask you when you or if you were on pred for your asthma did you have a problem with high blood sugar? Mine was like 347 about 5:00PM today and was in the 300's last night. The last two or three nights or I should say mornings when I wake up my tee shirt material nightgown is soaked with sweat and I am cold did you or anyone you know ever have a problem like that, it smells like I have been in a sauna for eight hours. I called my so called doctor and he told me to keep taking the pred as I only have two more days take 20 mg tommorro and 10 and that will be done but I am really worried about the shakes so bad and the sweating and myhigh blood sugar. Thanks Bert for any help. Love & Hug's, Hewitt
