Guest guest
I see my name in your post, together with a number of pejorative words that I will not repeat here. I do not believe I've ever applied those pejoratives to you or anyone on this list. I have never stated that you were the center of every argument; and I don't believe that to be the case. I further have never seen a rude post by Chuck. I did observe the exchange between you two. I found your posts incomprehensible when viewed for reasonableness and so I decided against becoming heavily involved. I also DID recently object when someone was called a name, and suggested that we moderate ourselves. And then I went on; I don't even remember who the name caller was for sure... I do my best to present " facts " which have some modicum of support. I may object to those that do not. I present a viewpoint/world view that is different from that of some here; and I hope that is okay. Presenting a reasonable " fact " should not be construed as rude, even if you disagree with it. Why not attack the fact if you disagree, rather the bearer as being rude??? After all, the former is reasonable discussion, while the latter is " ...fighting and bickering... Guest guest
I think it probably happened while you were MIA from the list a few weeks back. I found that Sue's take on the interchange so foreign to my understanding that I didn't really comment. But I: 1] Have never called her any names; and 2] DID NOT state that she's involved with every dispute here. So when I find myself under attack in a message that also says we need to stop " ... this fighting and bickering... " I find it a little comical. It's too bad that not everyone can strongly disagree as you, Chuck and I sometimes do and still remain civil. Regards, PS: You're still going to owe Chuck a steak dinner! Guest guest
And I understand where you're coming from. That's why I've posted more than once here that you mean well, and that you're good hearted. But I find your " prescriptions " ill advised and dangerous. And your take on " facts " strange to me. I'm well aware that _some_ people don't get effective treatment from standard allopathic practices. I disagree with you as to why. I'm also aware of those who report that T4 doesn't seem to be what they need; and that the TSH numbers don't correlate well with they symptoms. Unfortunately I don't have all the answers to those problems. I try to present a perspective that will be helpful to at least some of those who come here for help. But I can say all of that to you without anger, and probably without having you think I'm being rude. Too bad not all approach differences that way. .. .. > > > Posted by: " Gracia " circe@... > <mailto:circe@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20thyroid%20This%20rudeness%20needs\ %20to%20stop> > graciabee <graciabee> > > > Sat Nov 22, 2008 9:53 am (PST) > > > Oh. well that's why I said the remark insulted me, but I also > understand where they are coming from. it's the allopathic > perspective. they think everyone is fine dosed to TSH on a T4 med. Guest guest
thank you for your civility. if you go to some other boards you would see that endos are not much appreciated, there are horror stories, and ppl fantasize about what they could do to them. (like force them to eat $inthroid after their thyroid has been removed). many boards say do not go to an endo,--look for a holistic doc. peace out Gracia And I understand where you're coming from. Guest guest
Well, she is right that I generally approach the subject from the viewpoint of allopathic medicine and science. But I also see that not every patient has good results from the present state of allopathic medicine. I object, repeatedly, to advice and statements that seem to have the potential for harm. Some of those are from Gracia; but I don't think she INTENDS any harm. Your statement that we're all different has been made so many times here it seems pointless to repeat it. Gracia simply disagrees that we are different on that typical level. I probably find that viewpoint as frustrating and exasperating as you do; and as she probably finds some of mine. .. .. > > Posted by: " Nancie Barnett " deifspirit@... > <mailto:deifspirit@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20thyroid%20This%20rudeness%20needs%\ 20to%20stop> > aspenfairy1 <aspenfairy1> > > > Sat Nov 22, 2008 10:48 am (PST) > > Gracia- > That is NOT what they are saying. Guest guest
There are just as many horror stories about alternative docs. I have my own. Horror stories should be only partially believed if believed at all, since they tend to be exaggerated like the proverbial fish stories. Somewhere in there is a grain or two of truth, but usually the patient is embellishing. mse On Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 6:38 PM, Gracia <circe@...> wrote: > > thank you for your civility. > if you go to some other boards you would see that endos are not much > appreciated, there are horror stories, and ppl fantasize about what they > could do to them.
