Guest guest
Thanks for the responses regarding appetite. With so many changes going on the last week I start to wonder if I'm imagining the less " testable " things, like the appetite change. It really seems like my appetite has become more normal, I don't know of a better way of describing it. I wonder what other things are " normalizing " that we aren't aware of at all. ----- Original Message ----- From: " wkendz 32 " <wkendz32@...> <low dose naltrexone > Sent: Saturday, February 14, 2004 7:25 AM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] appetite... > " I noticed a change in my appetite after starting LDN. Guest guest
Strange that you all seem to have less appetite. I have more! I eat more than I ate past few months. I'm not getting much heavier though. Could this be normalizing too? I'm eating to little since years. Lost a lot of kilo's. I always was about 68 kilo (133 pounds?) Now I'm glad if I make it to 55 kilo. Maybe getting bit better is taking more energy? I seem to be hungry all day;o) Chey
Guest guest
Hi all, I'm Pam, and new to the group, though have been reading messages for a couple months. I found a great pcp, who recommended a new neuro, that he knew might be aggreable to trying LDN---after a few phone calls, and reading all the information I gave to her, she called in the LDN prescription to a compounding pharmacy just down the road from me---he has four other MS patients on LDN, and knows a multitude of things about MS, and many of the symptoms we have. I started LDN last night, and already today, I feel "different", though I can't put my finger on a lot of the things. I also have very little appetite, have not needed a Baclofen all day, and haven't taken a pain pill all day---this in and of itself is a miracle. I agree with all of you that it's time to get these _ _ _ _ _ _ neurologists to get off their pedestals, and start acting like the "doctor's they are suppose to be"====as my new neurologiest said----a physician's job is first and foremost "to do no harm", and from all of her readings, she therefore, saw NO reason NOT to prescribe LDN. Anyhow, thaniks for all the great input I've gotten here, as it has really given me to courage to "forage" for a doc who would proscribe what "I" wanted for a change---giving me a chance to try to take my life back into my own hands! Guest guest
Welcome Pam, I've only been on LDN since the 5th of this month and am so excited about it. I too felt different the first morning and really didn't put any stock in it until I realized I could feel my feet. This whole thing is amazing and it angers me that our doctors aren't even hearing about it. At least you and I have been fortunate to have support and cooperation from ours... ----- Original Message ----- From: Pam Ridge low dose naltrexone Sent: Saturday, February 14, 2004 5:07 PM Subject: RE: [low dose naltrexone] appetite... Guest guest
Hi Pam and welcome to you. I am so happy for you, that you have a true Doctor...One who still remember her hypocratic oath. I wish they could all be like that. We have a hard enough fight on our hands, without having to fight with the Docs. I hope your experience with LDN continues to be a good one. I have been on 3mg LDN now for 10 months, and still happy with results. LDN was really put to the test here lately with me. It came through for me like nothing else ever has.....thank you God and Dr. Bahari. Post often and keep us up to date.....and remember that you may still have some bad MS days....don't get discouraged...it will pass. Guest guest
Thanks , Great to have others in the same boat as you, isn't it----I found out that the pharmacist that filled my prescription is an old-timer with LDN---he's got four or five other patients on it, one of them for ten years. He's also got herbal remedies for my lack of thyroid function (which my Levoxyl) just doesn't seem to help...also very interested in working with alergists along with patients who have autoimmune diseases---sounds as though he's more of a participant in "medicine" than any of the docs I've been to. Good luck on your continued success. Pam Create your own personal Web page with the info you use most, at My MSN.
Guest guest
Noland, My holistic Dr. replaced Levoxyl with the prescription for Armour Thyroid AND a non-prescription Adrenal Cortex supplement. This combo has worked extremely well. Lynda
Guest guest
Noland, Sorry to interrupt! I take an herbal thyroid activator that contains iodine, magnesium, selenium and zinc. These minerals naturally stimulate the thyroid if it is just sluggish. Works for me. Most reputable vitamin companies will have a source. Guest guest
Lynda: It appears that many Doctors test for TSH and Free T4 but overlook testing for T3. So, you may have to ask about the T3 specifically.
