Guest guest
Make sure minocycline is taken with Vit C or you will ruin your teeth.I take minocycline with LDN and there's no problem. It is an antibiotic for acne but I saw it work a miracle for my friend's Scleroderma so thought I would try. There is a trial being done in Canada on this for MS. It may make you dizzy in the AM so be careful for a few days. All I have noticed is that it has given me great gums.(no kidding, my dentist was shocked) i now take it 3X aweek, 100mg. This is the Rhematoid arthritis protocol. Not sure if it has done anything for my MS but I do feel immediate relief of muscle /back pain if I have overworked at gym. Keep us posted on what you find. Guest guest
If you are having a Herxheimer reaction it is my understanding that it usually occurs between day 4 and day 16 after beginning the antibiotic. Can you ride it out and see if it improves? I don't know of any other way to tell if that is what is going on. I've experienced a very similar occurrence nearly every time I've had to use antibiotics, so I really try to avoid them, plus it takes me so long to get my insides back in balance. While on the antibiotic you are also killing the beneficial bacteria, have you considered adding a really good probiotic to help maintain your intestinal flora?? Guest guest
, did you get a western blot lyme disease test. Last I researched it that was the most accurate and have you been tested for Syndrome which mimics ms. If you are taking the antibiotic for antiinflamatory effects, why not try turmeric. I haven`t read the articles you mentioned but agree with . You are throwing your intestinal flora out of balance and need a strong probiotic. I use primal defense by Garden of Life. It is good for sinus problems headaches, constipation, etc. Check it out and be glad there are no lesions. There are so many options available for people with chronic conditions. I like to call it a condition because conditions are ever changing. I beleive in my heart those of us who walk our own path will win this challenge called ms. Guest guest
, I've been studying antibiotics for 4 yaers now. I toke Amoxycilline, Doxycycline, Minocycline and Zithromax. Not all at once ofcourse;o) The antibiotics fight off a lot off virusses an bacteria in your system. The bacteria give out a toxic substance, your body reacts to it with inflammation. If you indeed have Lyme or whatever other virus/bacteria that makes you sick, the antibiotics will keep them calm and it helps. But they will not kill!! The bacteria transforms itself to be resistant to a type of antibiotic and you need to take another to keep it calm. So basicly you will have to be on antibiotics (combined with a very strickt diet and a strong probiotic) for live. I did this for 4 years (except pregnacy) and it absolutely helped. But now, regardless the probiotic, my bowels suffer. If I may be so free to give advice; start with the Minocycline, see how you react. remember to diet (www.immed.org) and please take strong probiotic! If it works for you, search for an alternative therapy, such as orthomolecular or bio-resonance, to help you fight in a more natural way without killing the good bacteria. Guest guest
Thanks for the responses, everybody! First off, yes, I'm taking a probiotic with every meal. I just picked one from GNC, but I'll look for one of the better brands mentioned. Second, I had the Western Blot test, and it was negative. Apparently, there's some controversy over whether this is 100% accurate; I've met with one infectious disease doctor who says it's not. I guess I'll do it for 3 months, and figure out if I really think it's killing the Lyme bacteria; if so, I'll look for one of the less toxic approaches that have been mentioned. I also found this guy: http://www.dr-zhang.com/LD/index.htm I will follow up with him in 2 weeks (I'm going on vacation to California tomorrow! Yeah!) Thank you all, and further comments on this issue are much appreciated.
