Guest guest
Looking forward to reading the files. I started the other night and was a bit overwhelmed by all the information available. I'm having to work through some of it slowly because some of it contradicts what I've come to know as true (I've worked with a naturopathic physician to control my candida in the past). I have a couple of questions, one that might not be pertinent to this group but I won't know until I ask it. That question concerns my 15 year old daughter. She is 5'7 " and while stick thin, not lightweight. She must be all muscle - weighing about 130-140 for the last couple of years. Her whole life we have dealt with attention and memory issues with her. I homeschool her and while that can be a benefit for somebody with problems like this, it is still frustrating. She also exhibits occasional, but not consistent allergy symptoms to things as varied as cats (but not all cats), dust and mold, and peanuts. Finally, she is always colder than anybody in the house. I keep the temp set at 67 degrees for her benefit - it would be lower if she were not so cold in the winter. Even at that temp, I will often find her wearing jeans with over-the-knee socks, an undershirt, a tank top and a sweater, topped by her long fleece robe and a hat and fingerless gloves. She is often still chilled. So, I'm wondering if all of these concerns could be related and if anybody here might have some insight into the cause and management of them. I'd ask our family physician but while he is willing to listen to me concerning my interest in treating as naturally as possible and taking a gentler approach to health issues than most people, he is still firmly entrenched in the allopathic mindset. I know he would not see any relationship between these three things although one might exist because allopathic doctors are trained to treat symptoms and not the whole body and therefore often miss multiple clues to one problem. Second question...I haven't started doing anything with the information here yet. I intend to but need to read more to understand what I am doing. However, I have a few concerns. When I last took a serious stand against the candida that wants to control me, I was suffering to the point that I actually felt I was going crazy. I was in so much discomfort that I would take my car, drive to a secluded location and just scream and cry uncontrollably. I saw great progress with what I was doing but got too confident and stumbled. I know sugar is addictive and after 4 months without any at all, I succumbed, thinking I could control it. I was wrong. During that last period, I was physically, noticeably ill for quite a while. I know that die-off can cause a worsening of symptoms as well as additional problems but I'm concerned that it will interfere with my ability to function. My husband is deployed and I homeschool our three children and run a home business. I also need to lose about 50 pounds. I haven't taken a good look at the diet yet (well, I looked at it but it was very late and I don't remember it). Can I assume that weight loss will be a natural consequence of this diet if weight loss is needed? I am experiencing a bit of depression due to my husband's absence. I know that depression can be a symptom of candida overgrowth. If I experience it only during my husband's deployments (he returned from a previous deployment in May), is it realistic to assume that control of candida will see a decrease in my depression while he is gone? Thank you! Pamela
