Guest guest
I have been on LDN since early October '03, no relapses so far for me. Let us know how you're doing. You might want to contact Dr Bihari's office for some advice here too, or possibly the Doctor in the UK (Lawrence) who himself has MS and takes LDN. > Hi folks: > > I'm got RRMS, with 2 episodes in the last 2 years. Guest guest
: Your apparent relapse is not all that uncommon at the beginning of taking LDN. It seems that some people in the healing process will experience past symptoms progressing in a reverse order for the first three months. However, those that have hung in there and rode them out have all recovered and improved or showed signs of stopped progression. Guest guest
Hi ... My husband with MS and Uncle with Parkinsons started LDN Sept 2002, I also have a close friend with MS who started LDN March 2003 and am in contact with many people in Ireland all who started within the last year. I am not a doctor ... these are just my observations. Although all are stable and some have pulled back more than others .... it is not always plain sailing. There are always ups and downs with LDN. For example with my husband .. I remember when he first started LDN he improved so much so fast that it seemed too good to be true. Then he started to slip and I thought .... here comes another relapse and was more upset than before as my hopes were pitched. However .... it turned out that he was running an underlying infection for which his dermatologist scripted him antibiotics and once he took them he bounced back again. The same happens with my Uncle and close friend. If they slip it is scary .... but it always turns out to be something else they are running that seems to flare existing scarring. None of the people I know have had new symptoms but remain mentally prepared for the worst. They are all doing better than they have done in years. I also believe that LDN can be boosted naturally in times of need, that is worth reading up on ... find whatever theory in that regard suits you ... diet, pills, exercise etc. I no longer panic when I see my husband slip I just try to figure out what he is running. That can be tricky. I also clearly remember Dr Bihari say that in times of stress or infection a person can reach whatever their lowest point pre LDN was but should never progress beyond that. We get so used to the good life sometimes it is hard to remember how bad things were until an infection strikes. Hang in there .... given time you will adjust to the ups and downs and realize there are way more ups than downs. No progression is the key. Guest guest
Hi , I'm fairly new to your LDN group but I like your honest analysis of what is happening with your loved ones. I have not started LDN yet, but look forward to doing so and people like you and I've read a few others are a God-send because it's a realistic view of what might happen. Thank you so much for your information it has truly blessed me. Sometimes we don't realize how we can impact others by just a simple testimony right? Thanks again and... Guest guest
Howdy folks: I thought I'd provide an update (a bit long!). First, thanks very much to those who shared information--it's very much appreciated. Second, I have fairly good news--I had just 2 days of symptom recurrence, and then back to (just about) where I was before. If this was a relapse, it was only 2 days, rather than the 4 months of my last one. Now, I have 2 questions that I'll never be able to answer: 1. What did I just have--a relapse, or just a recurrence of symptoms caused by an infection or something, and 2. What ended this symptom cycle? Question 1: What was this? Well, the infection theory might be true for me. In the prior 2 weeks, I got an odd throbbing in my left ear (not so bad), followed by constant ringing (fairly bad). I went to an ENT, who asked if I had had a cold sore recently; and I had. He surmised that I had a herpes simplex infection, which caused the ringing and the cold sore, and gave me some Valtrex. My " quicky relapse " happened 2 days after starting the Valtrex, so possibly, while fighting the infection, I had symptom recurrence, but not a true relapse. Question 2: What stopped the symptom recurrence? Tough to know. LDN? maybe. My chiropractor? maybe. Mother nature? maybe. I'm just grateful it appears to have blown over with little to no lasting damage. Thanks again, folks. > Hi folks: > > I'm got RRMS, with 2 episodes in the last 2 years. Guest guest
Yes there is relapses with ear infections I am the ear infection king I swear. That is the single most infuriating thing about ldn. it won't stop my infections and I feel like h#$* during one, but on the fip side no ground has been permanently lost. It is always a temporary thing for me and probably you too. Guest guest
, I have been on ldn since the end of Nov. Started out on 1.5 and went to 3.0 after a month. Improvements so far are cognitive, feel stronger in general and it has also seemed to help my libido. Has anyone else had an improved sex life with ldn ? The nervous system is like an onion unpeeling layers so Dr. Bihari says there may be some transient symptoms but if they persist I would check out my diet, stress levels, etc. I have had ms for ten years now and by the grace of God and alot of alternative therapy have been able to maintain an extremely busy massage therapy practice here in Florida. Take care and God Bless. Guest guest
Reg: Have you tried putting 3 drops of 3 % hydrogen peroxide in your ears a few times a day when you have an infection, etc.? It is theorized that a large percentage of the germs entering the human body enter through the ear canal so by disinfecting the canal kills the germs. This method is supposed to work wonders on common colds however, I can't say from personal experience because I nor my family get colds. I do use it when I start building pressure in my head and it seems to help relieve the pressure.
