Guest guest
I think a forum site is better than the e-mail one. That way I can go and check the parts I want to read when I have the Chance. By the time I go through the e-mail, I have taken too much time on the computer and can't check anything else. I believe that 's suggestion of replying off-list is appropriate when the response is in fact something akin to "Thanks for the idea." This type of message, intended for one member, is superfluous to the entire group and indeed does clog up the list. It's easy to just hit the reply button but responding to one member *is* doable. Guest guest
Thanks to all who tried to help with my problem I know what the problem was I have like only just so much time to be on the computer on line so I have all the forum letters sent to my Incredimail account where I can go off line and read them at my leasure . However in that case most leters have come from the forum address and the authors is lost unless I go to the forum to answer. This I will do from now on unless I want the group to see the message as it is pertinent to all like this one. I would also like to put my name to the picture I placed on the site instead of saying "me and lift" but don't know how that is done now that I have placed it there, I am quite proud of the wheelchair lift I designed to lift me into my dining room kitchen area. I find that when I use Agent with messages set to thread it only takes me a few minutes to step through the ones that are of any interest to me. I just press the Ignore Thread button on any that are not of interest. That way all the " thank you " one liner type of responses never even appear. Reading the forum on the web requires me to stay connected for a long time to get through messages and I can't filter or ignore the uninteresting threads. After a few days of selective filtering I have reduced the e-mails to about 20 a day so that is easy to cope with. There is a slight chance of missing the occasional message that would be interesting but I take that risk. Steve
