Dear ,

Although I don't have any experience with Tachycardia, I have

been diagnosed with another heart condition, Atrial Fibrillation.

Although it was discovered by my internist, the real diagnosis came

from wearing a heart monitor which was ordered by a cardiologist. In

my case, the Atrial Fibrillation is now totally controlled by

medication. We know that it had nothing to do with my AIH, because I

was in remission at the time and not taking either Prednisone or

Imuran.

I encourage you to see your G.P. and to follow up. I've had no

side effects from my medication, and I can still take the liver

medications that are needed. I hope your doctor is able to find the

cause and give you treatment that will control your Tachycardia. My

prayers are with you.

Sharon

.... It seems like it could be the meds. are you taking any

others that might affect them? Heart problems sometimes go with liver

problems.. I remember reading in some of my research but I can't

remember the exact connection . i'll see what I can find... It strikes a

bell somehow.

The drop off in meds shouldn't cause problems if you've been on them a

short time.

love jerry

Although my mom is much older, she has had tachycardia, and related cardiac

issues for several months, the worst during her main ascities issue. She is

not on any meds other than a diuretic, but stress is also a major issue with

her. I concur with your doc re seeing a cardiologist to assess the issue

better. So many things can change how the heart reacts, and sometimes an

underlying subclinical problem can be made worse by the changes in the liver

and blood flow throughout the organs. Hopefully it is just stress

associated anxiety tachycardia, but the ultrasound, ECG, and possibly a

halter monitor will define it best, and provide not only peace of mind for

you, but if necessary give treatment before a major issue pops up.

The tests are very easy, but if you stress easily like my mom, and imagine

the worst (she did un-neccesarily), bring someone who is very calming with

you and that may help.

Hope this info helps,

Kat
