Tachycardia... A Symptom of Liver Disease or From Medications?

I am a relative newbie on the medications. Recently I have been

experiencing extended bouts of Tachycardia (heart rate over 100 beats

per minute). Usually this happens when I haven't gotten enough sleep

or am exceptionally stressed. It usually comes on after lunch and

does not go away until I go to sleep and wake back up in the

morning. At 10pm last night my heart rate was still over 100 bpm.

My GI took me off the Immuran because he thought that might have been

causing this. He does not think the Prednisone would cause this but

has backed me down from 20mg to 10mg (Should you do this much of a

jump back?). GI suggested I go to my Primary Care Physician because

I might have an underlying cardiac problem. I am scheduled to go see

my Primary Care Physician next Friday. Don't think at 34 I should be

exhibiting cardiac problems though.

My question, has anyone had this happen. I have been doing some

internet research and you can have Tachycardia in end-stage liver

disease, but I am nowhere near there. I think it has to be

attributed somehow, either by the disease itself or the medications

as I have never had this happen before I started taking the

medications. I am not one to run off to the ER when stuff like this

happens, but I think if it happens again I will, just to figure out

what in the world is causing it. I can't imagine a sustained heart

rate over 100 bpm for 9+ hours can be good for you. Any thoughts?

Hope all have had a blessed Christmas.
