Guest guest
Our body absorbs the rays from the sun and then makes vitamin D. If we do not get the sun exposure we don't make the vitamin. We can take a vitamin D3 supplement instead. We need vitamin D for many different functions in our body. It's the same principle that we use when we take other supplements: when we don't get enough vitain C in our diet so we supplement our diet with it. I hope this makes sense to you. If you live north of 36 degrees lattitude then you need vitamin D3 supplementation during the months September through May because the sunlight doesn't get to us. If you don't go outside like me and get skin exposure in May through September you need vitamin D3 supplementation. I have my vitamin D levels checked every year as your level can get too high if you take supplementation vitamin D. Go to www.mercola.com and type in vitamin D in the search engine and you can read all about it.
