Guest guest
Hey Doug, Just a quick response, Bee often talks about someone who had diarrhea for 8 months straight (here's a quote from a past post). If they could have it that long, I think having it for a month or two couldn't be too bad, as long as you are replacing your fluids and taking Bee's recommended electrolyte drink. " Diarrhea is caused by toxins that the body is trying to get rid off... One lady in my Candida Support Group in 1987 had diarrhea for over 8 years when she started on the program. She kept calling me discouraged that even though she was following the diet and taking the supplements it still hadn't stopped. I encouraged her to stick to the program, and that because she had it for 8 years it would take 8 months (1 month for every year). 8 months to the day she called me and said her diarrhea had finally stopped. " The best advice on when to do antifungals is what bee puts in her getting started article. " Antifungals ... can be started when your " die-off " symptoms have diminished after being on the diet... You will know whether you are ready for a strong antifungal when you try it. If your " die-off " symptoms are intolerable you should stop taking the antifungal and stay on the diet longer. " Since everyones die off reaction is different for someone they need to wait until they no longer have diarrhea, for others its when they no longer have headaches. I would just wait until you get up to the 6 tablespoons of VCO and if you still feel good try an antifungal, if its knocks you on your butt, then stick to just the diet and supplements for a little while longer and then try it again. From what I have seen, its just a matter of trial and error to find out what pace works best for your body. As for your immune system, it may be very weak, or you may not have canidda as bad, so there is less to deal with. You have said that you had been on other anticandida diets, not that they got rid of the problem completely, but that may have given you some insulation from some of the more problematic health issues that develope from a prlonged candida problem. Since everyone is different, the only way to find out is as you progress on the diet, keep monitoring your reactions to make sure you pace yoruself in a way that helps you heal with out pushing too fast (as I think you know already). As for canned tomato products, I have no idea about the calcium chloride and stuff, but I did want to say that, whenever possible, I always prefer fresh. Canned goods, even organic, often use rejects from fresh produce sales. What this means is that spotted and briused produce are usually what gets canned as those issues are not as readily apparent after the canning process is completed. Now, even though bruising isn't bad, spotting and other cosmetic issues, may point to an unhealthy spoilage or mold issue. Since you can not tell the appearance of the item after it's been canned, its hard to guarantee that the canned produce is devoid of any mycotoxins. I don't mean to alarm you. Canned items could be okay, and for some, they may not have issues with it. Since I have had enough issues with canned produce, I steer clear when ever possible. I guess I would simply say approach it with caution. If you do fine with them, than maybe you found a good brand, or the small amount of mycotoxins in the canned produce is not an issue for you. Just something to think about. Well, I guess that was more than just a quick response. Oops. I seem to be pretty chatty lately. I'm having it on and off myself, but nothing horrible. I'm probably up to 4-5 T of VCO and lots of butter... ....My 2nd question is, will I know to start antifungals when I can eat 6 T of VCO per day and have normal stools, instead of loose as they always are now? Are there any other " die-off " symptoms that will subside, and I will know it's time for antifungals? I'm not pushing to go too fast or anything... I'm intentionally not eating much garlic at this point... ....Another similar question is if I'm not having bad die-off reactions, that could mean that my immune system is too weak to fight much, right??? Then I should just stay on the diet and wait, I guess. Are the stools the only barometer for me to go by... ....MY Third question is about canned organic tomato products. I found some Muir Glen certified organic diced tomatoes (Ingredients: organic tomatoes, organic tomato juice, calcium chloride, naturally derived citric acid). Also, Organic Tomato Sauce (Water, org tomato paste, sea salt, org onion powder, or garlic powder, nat citric acid). And Organic Tomato Paste (Ingredients Organic Tomatoes only). All 3 cans say they are certified organic...
Guest guest
Thanks... good advice on the canned tomatoes... I hadn't considered the mold/mycotoxin issue. Perhaps I'll just use them rarely. > > Hey Doug, > > Just a quick response,
