Guest guest
Hello, I've been reading for a couple of weeks. Wrapping my brain around all of this - wow, it is really complicated to just totally switch your diet around. (thank goodness, I was already pretty much on a NT diet anyway!) I was at an event last night where everyone was eating chocolate cake - and I wanted to eat it about as much as I would a hunk of plastic. Its the nuts, seeds, corn chips snacks around the house that are harder for me to give up. So I was really looking at the protein/fat ratios today and, wow, I am supposed to eat somewhere around 200gr of fat? (I'm 5'4 " so my amounts are pretty close to the 5'6 " example) jeeze. Does this actually mean that if I look at my bowl, it should have twice the amount of fat than protein? I really need to make my own food pyramid to " get " this. I need to visually see about how many tablespoons of butter/coconut oil/lard I should be eating. And what does 63 grams of protein look like? Are we eating tons of vegetables... or maybe not so much fiber? So, I have pretty mild symptoms. I tend to be a little bit stuffy in the nose most of the time, I usually get somewhat bloated when I eat, I have a hard time sleeping through the night without a snack and I have a very slight vaginal itch that is completely ignorable. When I was pregnant (I have two young kids), my digestion very nearly shut down and I would get bloated to the point of nausea everytime I ate anything. I think that is really the yeast shining through. I had a test done by my ND and it reported that I had a slight candida overgrowth and some other bad bacteria in potentially pathogenic numbers. But also the high number of good bacteria too. So, what is my question with this report? Well, I'm really on the right track right? (of course you will support this) I've been pretty good with the diet except I am still figuring it out. Do I really have to do this? (Ok, I wouldn't have come this far if I didn't believe that I needed to) Do I really have to give up my raw milk kefir??? I don't want to! It is healthy for me. the farmer depends on my part of the farmshare. (we get 6 gallons a week and i'd have to cut that considerably without my kefir habit) Maybe bone broths can take the place of the nourishment? and the cabbage juice could replace the probiotics. But I have to make that every day?? ugh. and non-organic lard (from pigs raised outdoors on a local farm fed milk and food scraps and regular old pig-feed) isn't going to hurt me much, is it? What do you eat for snacks? (ok, I admit, havne't tried the egg drink - I am a little nervous around all those raw eggs. Thanks,
Guest guest
you need to take a therapeutic dose of Iodoral--12.5mg is not even a maintenance dose. docs get confused about dosing. you will need 50--100mg iodoral plus companion nutrients. I take 100mg Iodoral and I have been hyperT. look at http://www.optimox.com click on research. when you get thyroid tests ask for FREE T3 and FREE T4. The test showed that I had very high levels of cortisol (stress hormone. Proior to that I have had hyperthyroid for three years. I was only taking one 12mg? tablet of the loderol a day with no problems for several months. Then my symptoms increased, (itching, rapid heartbeat, lost most of my muscle mass, prolapsed uterus, trembling, hair thinning etc... My MD tested the 4t and tsh, 4t was quite high and tsh was low. She said I was on my way to having a "thyroid storm". I started beta blocker to slow my heart down and a anti thyroid drug which took several weeks to work. I do feel better now but do not want to go the radioactive route to kill my thyroid gland. So I started taking the Loderol again and after two days my heart is beating out of control, and skipping beats again. Any one with any experience with hyperthyroid? thanks!
