My husband was on celebrex for rumitoid arthritus. The celebrex was expensive and it didn't work. We switched to S-ame. Over the counter at walmart. Good results for arthritus and emotional well being. Controls the rages that are a side effect from theropy for hep-c. S-ame is an organism that our bodys already make. As we get older or for other reasons it quits making as much. I give him one 400mg tablet a day and i see a huge improvement in pain management and attitude. I informed his specialist and he said if it's working for him great. Hope this is help for you.

God bless you and yours,

My mother has sever arthritis in her knee and prior to her diagnosis forAIH, she was told by her primary care physician that she couldnt take anyanti inflamatory medications (including athritis meds). She received acortisone shot 6 months prior to it which helped, but then once the effectwas over she couldnt walk and was in constant pain. When we met her liverspeciliast at the time of her diagnosis, we brought up this issue ofarthritis medication -- he said most modern athritis meds dont affect theliver and that he would recommend one once she had tapered down herprednisone. The prednisone has helped her for now -- she can actually walk.Nitin-----Original Message-----From: MKANTZLE@... I'm having a really tough time with joint pain and I work for an Orthopedist who suggested anti inflammatories. When I called the Hepatologist he was on vacation and I told them to just have him call me on Monday when he got back. When I came in the house on Saturday he had calledfrantically saying do not take any anti inflammatory at all and only an occasional Tylenol if I just HAD to take something. He also had his nurse call on Monday to make sure I got the message. I of course figured he wouldn't let me take anything but was shocked at his urgency about it. He said to have him inject my knee if I had to but do not take anti inflammatories. Interesting how doctors react differently. From what I've read Tyler's platelets and protime seem to be in the same neighborhood as mine. Go figure.
