Kim,

What about Lymes Disease?? Ever tested for that? The standard Western Blot test shows alot of false negatives, and most traditional docs will poo-poo the possibility. Go to Goodshape's message board 'cause there is alot of info about a very accurate test. I would look into it anyway!

Hi, guys...I'm still hanging out, lurking in the shadows, patiently waiting for the packet that Dr. is sending us in the mail so that we can schedule the phone consultation and get LDN for my 16 year old son who has MS.

I've noticed everyone talking about chicken pox and mono and immunizations...I've heard all of this before, but I have another "theory" that has haunted me since this began with my son, and I thought I would test the waters with it here, since the neuros seem to blow me off.

How many of you ever used inhaler type therapies for asthma or allergies? Either the puffers you adminster by hand, or the nebulizer machines with the masks? My son was on these constantly as a toddler and all through his early childhood, although he was never diagnosed with asthma. At times he was using 3 different inhalers at a time. I'm not sure what my logic is behind this, but I just feel that it has something to do with what is happening to him now.

Many of these meds contains steroids, and I worried the whole time he was using them about the effect they might have on his body, but was assured repeatedly by doctors that we had no choice and it wouldn't harm him.

This child was literally covered in mosquito bites 3 years ago when he had his first attack. He is an avid deer hunter, and at 13, getting him to remember the mosquito repellent was just too much to ask. We tried to count the bites on his body, but lost count at 50.

He was initially diagnosed with encephalitis, and when it reoccured the diagnosis was switched to MS.

Just wanted someone else's opinion on it. The doctors don't seem to take it too seriously when you question things like this, but I have always had the strongest feeling that this in some way brought us to the point we are at right now. We have NO family history of MS, absolutely none. Our diagnosis is based solely on the appearance of the lesions.

I would love to hear your input and see this one get pitched around for a bit. Take care!

Kim, I've never used inhalers, but as a child I used cortisone lotion

frequently for poison oak. Even had cortisone shots a few times... I've

always wondered about the steroids. Especially since I've been so much

worse since the one flare up when I was stupid, or desperate, enough to take

prednisone IV three days in a row.

I'm sure they have checked your son for Lyme disease?

Hi Kim,

I understand you're concern, my son has used inhalers and

nebulzers as well, mainly only on asthma attacks though.

I was wondering the same thing about the Lyme disease. Has he

been checked for that? Being a deer hunter, he might have been

exposed to ticks. Also on another board someone mentioned that you

could get lyme as well from other insects!

There is a NIH clinical trial going on re:albuterol and MS. It was

not clear to me whether albuterol helps or worsens MS.

Albuterol is an asthma med.

It's a message board for people using his histamine approach. Lots of people on LDN too. Put Goodshape in your search engine and it should come up.

Marcie (MS) P.S. try this: http://www.histamineangel.com/pages/654003/index.htm
