Guest guest
Marie, I, too, did the Basal (sp) test back a couple of years ago, and it did show that my temp was low. My doctor told me that this was as accurate a test as there was (and also cheap!) for determining a sluggish thyroid. I started on a thyroid activator product made by Nature's Sunshine, and it seems to have corrected itself. I don't know anything about the BP issue, but I'm sure that someone else will have some insight! Marcie
Guest guest
Hey gang, Need advice on how to get my family doctor to recommend the Lds prescription. How do i convince her since my neurologist said no on over the phone thing. I guess if family doctor says no then i will have to continue paying the 5 dollars a minute to dr. sullivan. I have been on the LDN since June so I don't beleive that it's that. I went to my nutritionalist yesterday. He told me that I have a low thyroid and adrenal gland. It showed up in my hair analysist that I had a few months ago. He had told me about it then. For years I have had blood work that showed a low thyroid but when they would re-check it, it would be normal. so I was never given medication. Now my nutritionalist wants me to do a Basil test. He said that it is more accurate than a blood test. Has anyone done this. This is how it is done. For three days in a row, when you first wake in the morning before getting out of bed, you put a thermometer under your left armpit. Leave it there for 3 minutes. If it reads 97.7 or higher, you are normal. If it reads 97.6 don't worry about it but if it reads lower then you have low thyroid. This morning I did it and it read 96.0. Does anyone know anything about this test? I am on so many supplements, I also wonder if I am having a problem with them giving me a reaction. Something is throwing me off. Also my blood pressure is off. It's average on the high end. Between 120 to 130 but low on the low end. Today I am 130 over 59 but have been as low as 38 on the low end. Does anyone have any suggestions or anything that they can add here. Thanks in advance Marie -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . Guest guest
Thanks to all of you who replied to my problem. I took the basal test and my thyroid is very low. My nutritionalist/naturepathic doctor is putting me on some tablets for it. I had a very bad week-end but seem to be better today. Also my blood pressure is back to normal today for some reason. But thanks again for all of you, it helps to know that I am not the only one going through these type of things. My holistic doctor recommended the same thing. They put me on Armour thyroid (prescription) and Adrenal supplement and I really could tell the difference. My temp. has always been low during fatigue, and I also have low blood pressure. My bet is that you do need thyroid, but go with a holistic doctor if you can. Remember that immune system disorders can screw up the thyroid function. Keep after it. I was really helped by the Armour thyroid and Adrenals Lynda ----- Original Message ----- From: Marie Deady low dose naltrexone Sent: Saturday, March 06, 2004 10:16 AM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Not up to par lately Hi Group, I, all of a sudden, am so fatigued, cold and shaky inside. Guest guest
Marie, I have continued to take the supplement. I don't take as large of a dose though. I guess I would know if I needed more! Marcie
Guest guest
Hi Marcie, Once your thyroid got up to par, did you continue with the supplement or did you get off of it. Thanks Marie ----- Original Message ----- From: marciemjm@... low dose naltrexone Sent: Saturday, March 06, 2004 11:10 AM Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Not up to par lately Marie, I, too, did the Basal (sp) test back a couple of years ago, and it did show that my temp was low.
