Guest guest
We requested Lyme's testing a year after he was diagnosed, but were told that the testing " window " had already passed, and we could get false results. The docs kind of blew us off, more or less. I've been trying to find out if he was tested at Vanderbilt at the onset of his illness and will let you know. Meanwhile, I understand that there is a new test available, but it all shows positive results. If you're interested in seeing this article, go to www.allergyresearchgroup.com and go into the newsletter archives and read the one from January of 2004. I'm checking into this, as well. Unfortunately, at the moment, we have a neuro with blinders on who doesn't take too kindly to suggestions from us. I'm in the process of rectifying that, too...Thanks for all the thoughts! " window " what window? I'm told by a blood testing specialist that live blood inspection is needed. The type of bacteria are easy to recognise in fresh live blood samples but very difficult in samples that are more than a few hours old. That's the reason for false results.
