Guest guest
Hi Sam, Would you email me privately a list of things I should advise a young girl (my oldest daughter's friend) who was just diagnosed with Grave's. Docs want to start with RAI, but may remove thyroid instead, do surgery to repair hemorrhoids, and are telling her that if she even so much as catches a cold, it may kill her. My daughter has told her to talk to me, but my experience is hypoT, not hyperT. My d-i-l's mom had/has Graves (she ended up cancer in both sides of her thyroid and had to have all removed this past year). I think she's already scared enough with her diagnosis that I don't want to scare her by bringing up the C word...although I know she needs to be aware that this is a possibility down the road. Also, I was not aware that Grave's can cause hemorrhoids...I thought Grave's caused IBS type symptoms, not constipation type...? Anyway, I need a list or something that I can print out for her to consider before she makes a major decision about this. At this point, I'm getting the feeling that she's just being swept whichever way the winds blow her. thank you,
Guest guest
goD bless you Sam Graves is most certainly iodine deficiency. this where the lawsuits are going to start. gracia My email address is: k9gang at openaccess.org PLEASE do not allow her thyroid to be removed or destroyed with radiation. That would be the worst thing to happen to her. Her health will be forever messed up...it's a life sentence of hell. OMG! I run the thyroidless group to help people avoid these things. It is horrendous living without a thyroid, and be aware that RAI can damage the pituitary gland as it did to me, damage salivary glands, ovaries, adrenals, mucosal linings, eyes, shock hair follicles, mke a person MORE at risk for cancers, and I can't list all the horrors, but you get the picture. RAI is barbaric! I got bald, obese, became crippled, lost all but 10 of my beautifuk teeth, was headed towards a wheel chair, among other things, and nearly died. Graves, Hashi's, cancer absolutely ARE things that can happen due to iodine deficiency. For Graves the same holds true as for " properly " treating Hashi's...I wrote that to on the hypothyroidism group this morning. The thing about Graves is that it is something that 'can' be cured, but something that mainstream doctors will not do. What I can suggest is to get her (or you) to join the thyroidless group: thyroidless We will teach her how to get well. Or the iodine group? But just in case, here's the " old school " rock and roll YeeHaw get-her-done grit-yur-teeth cowgirl way: First adrenals need to be tested/treated the right way: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/faq http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info Then she will be able to start Iodoral or Lugol's, and she will need to just do it... The www.breastcancerchoices.org site has a lot of great iodine info, including detox stuff (4 grams vitamin c works great), and there are iodine savvy practitioners listed there. It may take a few months but that should do the trick. If she's really hypEr, she might need something to get her to a hypO state, like and ATD, so she can do block and replace with desiccated thyroid. I think Elaine has a Graves Disease site on the internet with some helpful info. google search her? So, um, Graves can cause diarrhea (or loose stools) which in turn might cause hemmeroids. Which hazel helps shrink them back down and baby diaper rash ointment takes the pain away (Desitin is good). Just let her know that whatever she's going thru right now is nothing compared to the horrors of being thyroidless. I have fotos if you want to see them...just email at my regular address...
