Guest guest
Hey, do you guys remember when, I think it was Cabbie (he’s always on the ball), told us about the Myelin Repair Foundation? Well, I signed up to help volunteer, and because I live crazy close to their office, they enlisted my help. But, of course, there’s a catch. I need to enlist as many MS’ers as possible for THEIR help (meaning you). I’m sure you’re already aware of their deal, hoping to start trials within five years to actually make us better, not only halt our progression. Ah, to dance again… Anyway, the paragraphs below outline what is needed, which is basically money to start the research up. So, if possible, please forward some or all of this post to as many people, chat groups, and websites as possible so we can start the grassroots movement to get this running full force! Thanks, Katrina P.S. Sign up to volunteer and we can all work together - it will be fun! (seriously!) " Have you heard of the Myelin Repair Foundation? They've just launched a campaign to raise $25 Million to fund a collaborative research effort aimed at discovering palliative treatment targets for MS within 5 years! Top myelin researchers from Stanford, Northwestern, University of Chicago, McGill, and Case Western have already signed on. The legal, business and IT infrastructure to support the collaboration, and move discoveries rapidly into commercial development are also in place. The foundation needs to raise the first $1million before research begins. That's where we come in. Tell everyone you know who might be interested in making a donation to get in touch with the Myelin Repair Foundation. Small donations can be made directly on the foundation's website. People interested in making larger donations should contact the foundation directly, as they have set up a program for individuals, or other foundations, who want to take a sponsorship role. Myelin repair is one of the most promising concepts yet for developing real treatments for people living with MS, and the Myelin Repair Foundation is the real deal for managing a project of this scope. Information about the research plan and the people involved is available on their website, www.myelinrepair.org. Check it out, then let's help them get to that first million! Guest guest
Hi Katrina, Thanks so much for this info. Do you or anyone else remember the Myelin Project " started by Augusto Adami, for his son.....there was a movie about it some years back? I think that project is still active, and low on money. I wonder why they would start another similar study, when there is already one going on? These studies cost so much, I wonder why they don't pool their resorces, and work together on this? Just a thought....Love, Sally " Katrina Archibald " wrote: > Hey, do you guys remember when, I think it was Cabbie (he's always on the > ball), told us about the Myelin Repair Foundation?
