Guest guest
Hi guys I just seen my massage therapist last night and she is an angel. She made up a massage oil using Geranium, Lavender and black pepper in the oil. The relief for the burning in my legs was noticeable within 20 minutes and the cost was 15 cdn, it also relieved some of the stiffness in my muscles. I just thought I would pass this along for anybody who is interested in an economic relief measure. Angie
Guest guest
Nil - The burning in your legs is caused by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This is one of our 30 or so symptoms. My feet and legs have burned for 14 years due to CFS. Your kidneys are not the cause. CFS is. Get a heat pad and put your feet on it - helps greatly. I am never without one at my desk or workbench. Write your senators and congressperson and insist that NIH cure CFS.. But I have given up that. They don't give a damn about any of the 3 million or so of us. They know we don't have enough energy to storm NIH headquarters and get increased research funding, like the one million AIDS guys and friends did years ago.. Their research funding is now about 1,000 times ours, although we outnumber them by at least 1,000 times. Yeah, about 300,000 AIDS vs 3,000,000 PWCs. Does some NIH bean counter have his thousands reversed? 5 million to CFS, 5 billion to AIDS.. I'm left-handed, but don't think I'm backwards on this logic. Einstein was also left handed.. Also Leonardo di Vinci. But we were all three messed up in our heads... Right? No. Not the other two guys - just me. Oh well, get a couple of foot heat pads and an electric blanket and grin and bear it.. Mort burning legs I started having burning legs for the last or three weeks. the amount of burning increases from top to bottom, feet having the greatest amount.sensation is something like between burning and `pins and needles`. I have this 24 hours a day.what do you think could be the cause of it? just diagnosed with kidney insufficiency. could that be the cause? best wishes. nil
Guest guest
Nil, For the record: Einstein is widely mentioned on lists of left-handed people[6] but several photographs show him using his right hand to hold pens, chalk and violin bows.[7] Edgar On Mar 9, 2008, at 8:29 AM, W. And yes may correlate to CFS in many cases, especially where there is a lifelong TCM deficient constitution with its low energy, low hormone, high histamine, low copper and high inflammatory tendencies. I believe the kidneys are more sensitive and vulnerable in the lifelong TCM Deficient constitution, and this correlates to the common TCM deficient kidney yang, kidney yin, and Qi that are so prevalent in the lifelong TCM Deficient constitution. Could be related to or exacerbated by blood sugar levels (if high). Insulin resistance can have this symptom and can precede diabetes 2 by many years. There can be inflammation around the spine which very common, increasingly so with age. The nerves around the low back relate to the legs and feet, also subluxation, or both. Can experiment longterm with diet (allergies ->Inflammation), powerful antioxidants, more movement and less prolonged sitting. Short term experiments - stop vasodilating substances, ice the low back with a gelpack wrapped in a towel, chiropractic, antihistamines at night, antiinflammatory meds such as aspirin and ibuprofen, broad firm gentle rubbing of the area just to increase circulation. I don't hear anyone claiming CFS necessarily has burning legs, only that the two sometimes correlate. There may be something underlying both, which is of most interest to me. Guest guest
I noticed a horrible thing.I noticed that this burning increases when i smoke and decreases when i do not smoke for some time. Oh my! it is horrible for me. i really do not have the power to quit smoking at this moment. no nerve strength for that.. thank you for the link on B1. this was helpful. bw nil Re: burning legs I must humbly disagree. Many of us with clinically diagnosed CFS/ME have never had burning legs. It is not " caused by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome " , although it may be a SYMPTOM of CFS in some, or maybe even a lot of people. Guest guest
The glucose tolerance test is for diabetes, not insulin resistance. Still, check with your dr for whether it's appropriate for you. The goals are stability, strength, evenness, more active, more movement -> what I call " traction " in life. One should be able to reverse early and even later insulin resistance tendencies through diet and exercise, avoid diabetes 2 altogether. I'd go lower on carbs - just be mindful, more of a cleansing diet with lots of colorful vegetables high in antioxidants, some lean protein at every meal, good fats, and exercise more like walking or whatever you can reasonably do. How about a 15-30 min walk. Start small and work up. Dr Roizen on PBS talks about 30 mins a day rain or shine. If people did even half that much, most would be much better off than they are today. Even 1/10th as much would be better than nothing. 30 mins may not be perceived as do-able by most here, but as an ideal for people at large, it's excellent, and worth modifying to suit. Of course I'm not talking about the person bedridden with a fever walking 30 minutes a day. Many people don't realize exercise is the other half of the equation in insulin resistance, and they try to do it all by diet torture and supps and wonder why this doesn't work so well. I'll be writing an article soon on my findings in re insulin resistance, there are some supps that are lesser known (not the more widely touted that may not work so well after all). They may show you the possibilities, but the challenge here is to reform ourselves, get stronger, if possible. Everyone wants the magic pill, the exotic supps, throw money at the problem, so they don't have to do the basic stuff they're in resistance about and can't figure out how to create an " opening " for. All the fancy supps may not work or be appropriate for them anyhow. I'm not against supplements, just that *sometimes supps (and meds) are not the best solution*, despite what the literature claims, but you can prove that for yourself.
