Guest guest
Nope... Not a panic attack. I have had them before and it is not the same, nor have I ever had a 9+ hour sustained panic attack. I am not at all stressed when I have them, other than the episodes themselves. Of course, I would love for something as easy as xanax to cure the problem... :-) > : > Could the palpitations be panic attack? My symptoms were rapid and irregular heartbeat that would last for hours. It was very uncomfortable and anxiety-provoking for me, as I surmise your episodes are for you. Since you mentioned now that the ER doctor suggested the possibility of a beta blocker, I just wanted to tell you that I am on a beta-blocker known as Betapase, or Sotalol. I've had absolutely no side effects and it is okay to use for patients with a history of liver problems. (Some of the other medications are contraindicated in liver patients, according to my cardiologist.) Once they found the right dosage for me, it has prevented any episodes of A.F. (unless I am late taking my pill). I'm glad to hear you're following through with this with your doctor. I hope my experience helps. Guest guest
I am definitely following up with my doctor(s). While I think something has to be causing it, it kind of scares me if it is the liver. In my internet research, I have found that only in severe cases is their a cardic tie to the liver disease. I am hoping my liver has not decided to go down the tubes so quickly, as I was (hopefully still am) a mild case. I looked up my other high values and they would indeed be high in cases of liver dysfunction.. with one of them being high in cirrhosis and portal hypertension. I am sure my GI is going to love my numbers. Luckily, they are still not no where near as high as some of you guys get. Just hope they get this mess straightened out soon, I have been very tired lately as well. Makes working my full-time job fun, especially when they are not at all understanding. Ahh, this too shall pass. :-) Thanks. > Yes I believe so....
