Guest guest
You get a long-handled body brush and brush your body in a certain pattern before you shower or bathe. You start with your feet and brush in a circular motion. Then work up the legs and the thighs and the lower half of the torso. For the arms and upper torso, you work down while brushing in a circular motion. You cover your entire body, even the armpits (gently). But skip the crotch and be gentle on the breasts. Just remember circular motions and going towards the heart. Then when you shower/bathe, only use soap/body wash on the feet, armpits and crotch. The dry brushing exfoliated and cleaned your skin so you only need to wash the the previously mentioned smelly parts. It's sufficient just to rinse the rest of your body to get rid of the stuff you brushed off. Dry Brushing makes your skin baby soft and velvety smooth, invigorates the circulation and the brushing pattern of always going towards the heart is said to stimulate the lympatic system. On a personal note, I've had little bumps on my upper arms since I was a teenager and nothing got rid of them. The dry brushing got rid of them for the first time in my life. It sounds like it takes a long time to dry brush the body, but it really only takes about 5 minutes. Of course you can take as long as you want when you have the time. Guest guest
Dawn, Nice to hear of another fellow " dry brusher " :-) I follow the same brushing " routine " as you, however, I use the method for cellulite removal. It's not magic but it did decrease cellulite and made my skin feel tighter, in addition to feeling smooth like you said. I, too, would be curious as to where you got your brush? Mine is not long-handled and was a bit pricey cause it was part of a system which included a video on how to brush. Guest guest
Sobyl I have been using, and recommending, a natural sea sponge since I started BTGs. It works extremely well, and is readily available at local pharmacies. Loreen Dawson, ND Sechelt, BC Family Practice dry brushing Does anyone have a source for a good brush that has bristles that are not too stiff and is a good size for the dry brushing we recommend to our patients? I had a good one from my health food store but it's no longer available; everything they now carry is too rough. Thanks...Sobyl Bunis, D.C. --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
