Guest guest
Contact Dr. in Wisconsin he does phone consults he need proof of your dx and will prescribe the LDN ;o) From: Penny [mailto:sixcents@...] Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2004 1:48 AM To: low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] LDN issues I have been trying to get, first my neuro to prescribe it, then my PCP and now I recently changed PCP's because this other doctor is supposed to have experience with LDN. My first visit, he didn't see me, he sent in one of his " co-doctors " to see me. " She " told me I couldn't get LDN and implied that if I didn't try and fail on the ABCR drugs that I couldn't get it. So far what I've read tells me otherwise. I was on Avonex for since June of 2003 but was terribly miserable. I stopped taking it at the end of February. I do not intend to " try " anymore of the ABCR drugs and I told her so. I am pushing the issue with my PCP but if he doesn't change his mind, I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Guest guest
I had the same problem as you and posted asking for info on pharmacies who dispense LDN in my country. 2 people were kind enough to email me with their names. I rang both the pharmacies and as a result felt very comfortable with 1 in particular. I told him neither my GP or neuro would give me a script for LDN. He suggested that i give my GP his name and phone number and get her to ring him. (he even gave me his home number) Failing my GP giving me a script for LDN he will give me the name and number of a doctor who will rx LDN. Give that a try. Most doctors will listen to a pharmacist because they are just so much more knowledgable on medications. This pharmacist certainly gave me more info than i knew. --- In low dose naltrexone , " Penny " <sixcents@p...> wrote: > I have been trying to get, first my neuro to prescribe it, then my > PCP and now I recently changed PCP's because this other doctor is > supposed to have experience with LDN. Guest guest
I agree wholeheartedly about the pharmacist carrying some "clout" my regular doctor prescribed L.D.N. for me mainly because he knew the compounding pharmacist personaly. As he said "If Joe is willing to make this then I have no problem with it" Reg. -------Original Message------- From: low dose naltrexone Date: 03/31/04 01:32:59 low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN issues I had the same problem as you and posted asking for info on pharmacies who dispense LDN in my country. 2 people were kind enough to email me with their names.I rang both the pharmacies and as a result felt very comfortable with 1 in particular. Guest guest
Hi, I just found this list a couple days ago. I have MS and would like to give LDN a try. My problem is I have no neuro (the only neuro near me declared me " uncooperative " since I refused to go on the ABC injectable drugs and blackballed me with all neuro's less than 4 hours away, and I am too weak to make that trip) and my GP doesn't feel she knows enough to prescribe it. >I told him neither my GP or neuro would give me a >script for LDN. So, hows this work? Money is VERY tight here. Doug

Guest guest
In regards to where you say your G.P. didn't know enuf to prescribe it....I agree they don't know enuf so then it is our mission to teach them enuf; That is why we have all this info here on the LDN site and what others say. I actually had to sell my first doctor on the benefits and lack of side effects I was also going to sign any waver or release of liability form that he wanted but it didn't get that far. I believe that you are your best advocate for what you need and any doctor worth there salt will listen to your case and make a good decision based on how you present it!
