For the heartburn I had to use more water about three more glasses a day more, that fixed that little red wagon!

Has anyone experienced heartburn while on LDN, or could it be caused by a filler? What is the best filler to use if you are prone to heartburn problems?

Just my personal preference but that is why I use Acidophilus as a filler it is an enzyme we need and use!

The way it was explained to me was like this; we are born with a nice thick stomach lining, but as a result of over-acid diets, way too much refined sugar and flour products, over-use of aspirin type products and even antibiotics, we have ruined the stomachs lining and it's ability to produce the required enzymes to digest food properly. You can regrow your stomach's lining by watching your diet, (trying to eat more alkaline foods rather than acid) and aiding digestion with supplements such as Betaine Hydrochloric Acid (something that you should produce naturally, but most of us have ruined that) and food enzymes. That's kind of it in a nutshell. Any knowledgable health food store clerk should be able to help you. You must start SLOWLY on Betaine HCL if you have ulcers or other conditions of the stomach where the lining is worn thin! Work up to what your system can tolerate. Probiotics help to replenish the good flora that should naturally be in the intestinal tract, but again, we sabotage ourselves with a crummy diet and too much antibiotics (they not only kill the bad stuff, but also the good stuff)! It sounds complicated, but it's not. Check into it! I'll bet that eventually you will be able to kick the Prevacid habit!

Could you further explain what you mean by, enzymes and probiotics?

A hiatus hernia will cause the same symptoms I just did a Google search and the first thing on it tells you all about it, If that is what you have no amount of antacids etc. will help! Just a thought.

Tammy, are you drinking a big glass of water with the ldn? It should not be

taken with anything else. Many times hearetburn or acid reflux comes from

chocolate, coffee, marinara sauce, eating large portions of food, eating

late at night or having an overly acidic body. I take a product called

primal defense and it has been great for me. There are many avenues you can

pursue to get off the meds. Diet cures what diet causes. Good luck and God

Bless. Kathy
