Guest guest
I have hashi's and after reading about the gluten/hashi's connection, I tried a gluten free (as much as possible) diet for 3 weeks. I didn't notice any change in how I feel -- dropped a few pounds, but that's probably more the inevitable low carb effect of that diet. I ate a lot of gluten yesterday to see if adding it back in suddenly would give me symptoms. Nothing. Does that mean that gluten is not a problem for me? Guest guest
Gluten can take months to get rid of.So a few weeks might now be long enough. You have to be really strict to see benefits. There is a lot of hidden sources of gluten. My son has been on the diet for 6 months.Things to watch out for vinegar(can be from a gluten source),sometimes gluten or wheat won't be on the ingredients but they dusted the line to prevent sticking(fries, raisins)since it wasn't a actual ingredient they don't list them.Or they have used the line right before to make something with gluten.www.allergygrocer.com is a GREAT website(no affiliation) just ordered from them before.easy to shop.I have gotten used to reading labels. Also make sure you watch meds even over the counterincluding vits and minerals). ALOT contain Gluten.Easiest and cheapest way to live gluten free is shop the outside of the store.(meat, veggies, fruit, rice and beans are great and less expensive than boxed processed junk. HTH!
