Guest guest
Hi guys..just found this interesting website and I thought I would share it with you. It is www.smartLifeforum.org and from what I was reading, I thought it might be the ideal place to bring up the LDN. I will copy and paste some of what this organization is all about: " The Smart Life Forum is a group that focuses on issues of alternative health, biochemistry, physiology and other leading-edge sciences. We believe that because much of U.S. medicine today is medicine-for-profit, it excludes many cost-effective therapies and alternatives. Our approach is inclusive and evidence-based. We study and discuss many topics including nutritional medicine (vitamins and minerals, fats and oils, amino acids), natural hormone replacement & hormone management, herbs, diets, exercise regimens, as well as drugs and surgeries " It appears that this organization meets once a month and presents speakers. Would be a perfect place for Dr. Bihari to present his case. Not sure what happens after that but I sent them an e-mail which I will copy and paste as well: Hi there, just came across your smartlife website and was intrigued by the concept because I am very much emeshed in something that might be of interest to you. I am taking something that is very experimental at this point to thousands of us MS patients and the same can be said for it being something that has no side effects and yet it has actually halted any further progression of my MS for the past 21 months now. There are thousands of us out there who luckily have access to the internet and were able to do a little research and find Low Dose Naltrexone that a doctor in New York has theorized will help with all auto immune diseases by virtue of the fact that it causes an increase in endorphin production. More can be learned at the website www.ldninfo.org run by the Advocates For Therapeutic Immunology. The reason that I am writing to you is to seek your help in pointing me in the right direction with regards to finding an organization that would be willing to take on the task of doing a clinical study for low dose naltrexone and to possibly suggest that Dr. Bihari would be a great speaker for your organization. He is quite passionate about this therapy and the great things it is capable of doing. The way that LDN works is to take a tiny amount, 4.5mg, at bedtime. This in turn creates a temporary blockade of the endorphins by the pituitary gland. This temporary blockade results in the body thinking that it needs more endorphins. 200% to 300% more endorphins are produced, which regulates the immune system back to one that no longer attacks itself. Dr. Bihari has been working with this therapy for about 15 years now and would like nothing better then for someone to step up to the plate and do a clinical study. This very effective and harmless drug could go a long way to helping so many people that are suffering with MS and all auto immune diseases, including HIV and cancer. There are currently clinically approved injectable drugs for MS, however, I really don't think they work long term, and they are very very expensive. Basically money getters for the huge pharmaceutical companies. Naltrexone used in the FDA approved dose of 50 mg. has been used for heroin addition and is now pretty much out of patent. It is essentially an orphan drug at this point. Everyone knows that a patent is the desired result of a clinical study. Therefore we are stuck unless a government agency does something. Of course I am being presumptuous to assume that Dr. Bihari would want to travel to California and be part of this but I was just curious to see what they would say regarding this whole thing. I'll let you know what if any response I get back. Hey...not leaving any stones unturned..*s*. Joyce. Please direct me to just the right person who might help me in my quest and let me know if you would be interested in covering this topic for your organization. Thanks so much for listening.
