Edith My first prescription was made up in 1.5 mg. capsules this way I could add or subtract capsuls until I found what amount worked best for me. Not everyone is the same and I found that three has less stiffness(which is a side effect in my books)and four and a half was terribly stiff.

Also my first prescription was only for one month then my next was for three months and now it is for five months. Every time my Dr. asked me what strength I wanted and this time I was able to tell him without hesitation 3.0mgs.

But I still have a bunch of 4.5mgs left (my wife is trying to make them 3.0mgs by dumping some out)so until I use them up I won,t know what a steady dose will be like. but stay with the three mgs. for a long while I believe it will do you some good and probably more than you could hope for.

Reg.

low dose naltrexone

Subject: [low dose naltrexone] changing doses

I am waiting for an Rx from my neuro for LDN and asked for 3.0 to start with. But I'm reading about some people going from 3.0 to 4.5 and back again. Do you have two prescriptions? How does this work?Edith

I asked my doctor for two prescriptions, 1.5 mg and 3 mg, for 90 days each.

That way I can use from 1.5 to 4.5 as I try to determine what works for me.

He had no issue with that.

My first prescription 4/03 was for 3.0, when I went to see my neuro 10/03, I told him I would eventually want to trial 4.5 and asked him for a script for 1.5 MG caps for 4.5 per day for 2 months. So he wrote me a 2nd script for 1.5 X180.

My pharmacist says they are totally different scripts, so I COULD fill BOTH of them.

If I'm not going to bother with 4.5 testing any more, I'll just refill my 3.0's and not worry about it.
