My first script was filled locally, well just an hour away. I started with 3mg and saw immediate improvement in strength, balance, proprioperception, bladder issues, and sense of touch. I had no trouble at all sleeping, in fact started sleeping better than I had in years, but I did develop some limited stiffness in my legs, nothing to complain about. The nasty burning sensations on my abdomen left almost immediately, one of the best effects of LDN as far as I'm concerned...

Then a couple of weeks after I started the LDN I had some sort of virus or something, chills and fever, on and off again nausea, extreme fatigue and weakness. It is finally getting some better, but now my legs are very stiff, as well as my abdomenal and lumbar area muscles. I thought I was having a flare up for a while, until my husband began exhibiting the same symptoms... his abs have even gotten tight on him. His symptoms were not as severe, except for the fatigue, and he's pretty much back to normal except that his legs are still feeling tired.

During this period of weakness I haven't lost any of the other gains I've made with the LDN. The overall weakness and trembliness was not at all like the muscle weakness prior to LDN. I retained the bladder control, sense of touch, clearer thinking etc, so I'm sure it's some kind of virus or such.

I received my prescription from Skip's a week ago; now I've joined the ranks of those who don't sleep well. My legs and abs are ridiculously tight. First thing in the morning life is very unpleasant. Throughout the day I stiffen up if I sit for just a few minutes. While I was so weak with the bug I pulled something in my right lower back, and that is driving me nuts too.

Well, I didn't mean to turn this into a big complaining whine fest. I really just wanted to know if other folk's sleep patterns changed from time to time while on LDN, especially since my original prescription seemed to help me sleep and the one I had filled by Skip's seems to be keeping me awake.

And I know a lot of people have experienced stiffness. Quinine water (ick) or inosine seem to help some, but I'm hoping it will go away eventually. Have any of you just stayed all tied in knots? and how long did it take to get better for those who did lose the stiffness? Any good tricks for dealing with it? The DL phenalalanine doesn't seem to help very much lately, if at all.

The Benfotiamine really seems to have helped my energy level, and general outlook. I finally got over the fatigue when I started taking it earlier this week.

Has anyone else come down with any unusual illnesses within a couple weeks of starting LDN? I normally do not catch anything that is going around. My crew of 11 people will pass around the flu or a cold and I just never join them in their misery. I'm wondering if the LDN somehow made me more susceptible to whatever got a hold on me.

Any thoughts?

Again, I apologize for venting and whining. Sometimes it just has to come out!

My first prescription 4/03 was for 3.0, when I went to see my neuro 10/03, I told him I would eventually want to trial 4.5 and asked him for a script for 1.5 MG caps for 4.5 per day for 2 months. So he wrote me a 2nd script for 1.5 X180.

My pharmacist says they are totally different scripts, so I COULD fill BOTH of them.

If I'm not going to bother with 4.5 testing any more, I'll just refill my 3.0's and not worry about it.

I am waiting for an Rx from my neuro for LDN and asked for 3.0 to start with. But I'm reading about some people going from 3.0 to 4.5 and back again. Do you have two prescriptions? How does this work?Edith
