LDN in Australia

There are a few of us but I don't know of anybody in Queensland. I can

understand why most neuros won't prescribe it because they are typically

egotistical, self serving _____ (you can fill in the blank) who can't

handle the fact that a patient has come up with something that could be

of immense benefit to them, but I am surprised that you can't find a

friendly GP who will write you a script. I assume that you printed off

and took with you all the relevant info from www.low dose naltrexone.org

and emails from people in this group explaining how LDN is benefitting them?

G'day Emma

LDN is certainly being used in Australia. I am almost 12 months on it

now.

Not many doctors prescibe it but the society in NSW does know about

it, but because of the lack of trials they can not promote it.

Doctors are reluctant to prescibe it due to possible litigation of an

unproven medication. I am in South west NSW and there are a few

doctors down this way that prescibe it. ABout 16 people I know of are

on it.

We get it from a compounding chemist that mail orders from Lismore.

I am looking for a doctor in Sydney that prescibes LDN and will take

on new patientas and have a few on a list, so will advise. If you

want to contact me directly HennryJH@...

Cheers

Hi, I'm in Australia too....Melbourne.

I've got chronic fatigue syndrome and have just been to see my CFS specialist today.

Asked him about LDN and he didnt know much about it and didnt really want to know.

I would appreciate any information about how to get it here too.

P.S. Love the little aussie map you did :-)

Hi ,

I'm in Melbourne too (as indicated by the x on my map) so email me

privately with which area you are in and I will give you my GP's info as

she works both sides of Melbourne different days of the week.

Hi ,

I have found out some additional info from another forum and am

going to try it tommorrow. I found out 2 compounding pharmacy that

will make Low Dose Nalrexone into a capsule from the pure naltrexone

powder (one store will even combine acidophilus with it as the

filler) the charge is around $0.90 per tablet + frieght. The only

thing I now need to do is find a GP that will write a prescription

for it (doing that tommorrow).

The Pharmacist is willing to discuss the drug in low dose form with

a GP. Also Naltrexone in a high dose form requires an authority. But

the pharmacists inform me that in a low dose form naltrexone does

not require an authority on a normal presciption. Send me an e-mail

for any more info.

Sounds very much like The Green Dispensary, in which case you've found

the best! :-)
