Guest guest
I get to talk with Dr. Bihari on April 16th about a persription. I was wondering if anyone has gotten perscribed LDN while in the first year with MS. At his point O.N. is my only problem that I know of, but preventive medicine would be a good idea. Guest guest
You might want to check my posts starting around the 3rd week of Feb or so. I am 49 and had my first " attacked " in early Feb. Also optical neuritis. AFter much research and pressure to use a crab drug I did a consult with Dr. Bihari by phone. Tomorrow is 2 weeks on LDN. I plan to continue it and review other options only if I experience other attacks or when choices other than those currently available become available. Based on my research I'd urge you to have Lyme testing done and also Mercury testing. Ignore Docs that say it is not necessary. I'd be happy to supply you with loads of links as to why it is. One last note - if you drink diet soda get check for methanol toxicity as well. I am also in the process of getting a second Neuro opinion after I sent copies of my MRI to a second Radiologist and got a VERY different report. This is important as it appears most Neuros only look at the reports not the pictures! Guest guest
Some people who don't have anything wrong, that they know of, are taking it just as a preventative. I have a friend interested who may try it, he's just so impressed with my new camel bladder he wants to see what it may or may not do for him. ----- Original Message ----- From: gruffpuppy low dose naltrexone Sent: Monday, April 05, 2004 16:25 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Any users that are new to MS and LDN? Guest guest
gruffpuppy, you're lucky, yes, I'm sure Dr. Bihari will tell you "why wait until you start having other symptoms associated with your MS. Start LDN now so your progression will start asap.. Good luck! I am the person taking LDN as a cancer preventative. I have been on it for 20 days now and have had no ill effects whatsoever. I did have a few more dreams the first few days but nothing bad or bizarre. Also I have noticed that I seem to be sleeping more soundly. I guess that if you don't have MS you also don't have any of the adjustment problems such as stiffness. Diane
