Guest guest
Alan, My ON started the exact same way in the left eye. I had a Solumedrol IV for 7days, and my vision returned only to happen again in the right eye 13 months later. Three months later it happened again in the left eye. At that time, I decided no more steroids. The vision slowly returned, but not real good. I thought I would just have to live with it, and then I started bee venom injections, pregnenolone and DHEA. My vision is almost perfect, and I haven't had another round of ON in 3 years. I now do live bees, not injections. Bee venom, pregnenolone and DHEA are anti-inflammatory. That is all I can attribute to getting better. Located in Ontario Canada. Diagnosed several weeks back after losing most vision in left eye and sent for MRI. Things got very brigh and it's like looking through wax paper. Lost about 95%. My visionhas been coming back and can now see about 80% but progress has slowed or stopped. Things still "washed out" and still like looking through "thin" wax paper. Has anyone with ON used anything that they found helpful? Thanks and Best wishes Alan
Guest guest
Alan, That was one of the first signs I experienced. I went to an ophthalmologist who immediately put me on a 3 day course of a cortisteriod IV. It cleared up quite well after that. Guest guest
Hi Alan, Many of us with MS have ON, me included. Looking through was paper is a very good description of my eye sight in left eye. Alan I’ve had this disease for over 20 years and you read and hear of all kinds of help for all kinds of symptoms for MS. . . . except ON!! The only thing you hear over and over is you will regain some if not all of you vision back, but many of us only regain a partial back. I’ve been looking through wax paper in my left eye for 23 years. If it’s any consolation, you get accustom to it very quickly. Good luck, and if you get any good feedback please share it with the group. Guest guest
With M.S.there is always the chance that the symptoms you are experiencing will fade out and completely go away ....or not. This is what is so frustrating about this disease. When I got these same symptoms you are describing I took large amounts of vitamins and beta carrotine(the eye vitamin),then lo and behold within a short time (looking back on it) I was mostly back to normal My 20 20 vision is still here but gets foggy when tired. Now was this the vitamins ,or was it just going to happen? I don't know but I like to hedge my bets so to speak, and maybe it paid off? At least it didn,t hurt!
