Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just joined the group and I'm happy to say that yesterday I ordered my first prescription of LDN from Skip's. I can't wait for it to arrive and start it to see how it works for me. I was dx with MS in Feb of 2002. My neuro is the best and even though he has his doubts about LDN, he went along with my wishes to try it and wrote the scipt for me. I have been battling a very bad relapse for the past 3 months and am hoping that LDN will be the turn around for me. Guest guest
Hi , The only prescription medications you CANNOT take with LDN is Opioid Narcotic Pain Killers like Vicodin. Here is some information from the LDN Website - Are there any side effects or cautionary warnings? > Side effects: LDN has virtually no side effects. Occasionally, during the first week's use of LDN, patients may complain of some difficulty sleeping. This rarely persists after the first week. Should it do so, dosage can be reduced from 4.5mg to 3mg nightly. > Cautionary warnings: Because LDN blocks opioid receptors throughout the body for three or four hours, people using medicine that is an opioid agonist, i.e. narcotic medication — such as Ultram, morphine, Percocet, Duragesic patch or codeine-containing medication — should not take LDN until such medicine is completely out of one's system. In addition, LDN should probably not be taken during pregnancy. Full-dose naltrexone (50mg) carries a cautionary warning against its use in those with liver disease. This warning was placed because of adverse liver effects that were found in experiments involving 300mg daily. The 50mg dose does not apparently produce impairment of liver function nor, of course, do the much smaller 3mg and 4.5mg doses. People who have received organ transplants and who therefore are taking immunosuppressive medication on a permanent basis are cautioned against the use of LDN because it may act to counter the effect of those medications. Before I started my LDN in September 2005 I had been on Vicodin for 8 months so I called Skip's Pharmacy where I get my LDN and he said I had to go off the Vicodin and stay off it for a month before I could start taking the LDN because if not they would work against each other and the LDN would not work right. When I went to my Neurologist and asked him about getting on the LDN he had never heard of it of course and at first was kind of skeptical but I had printed lots of information about it because I had done my research so I asked him to please look it over before he made a final decision and he agreed. So he said I'll look it over and give you a call in a couple days. Well low and behold he called me back 2 days later and said it looks good so we can give it a try if you want. I was shocked but at least he looked into it before saying no. I hope this helps you . I am so ready to not stick myself anymore and not have to do the chemo. What I don't know is how many of the other meds I might be able to not take if I am able to get the Doc to write a script for LDN. Right now I take Neurontin, Baclofen, Provigil, Lexapro, Ditropan and (vicodin prn for back pain). I would love to not have my dresser look like a pharmacy. Also, my neuro is considered a specialist in MS and does a speaking circuit for the MS Society. How likely is he to consider this treatment...I know that that speaking gig is often funded by the pharm. companies. Thanks for your help, My MS & TM WebSite www.crystalangel.org Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments.
