It does have one little side effect. It causes cramps and leg

stiffness in some people. If I take more than 1.5mg my legs are very

stiff in the morning and on 4.5mg I get abdominal cramps.

I agree with you Larry, cutting the toenails is a pain in the back, the lower back. And they are growing like you wouldn't believe!

So we have stiffness, supposedly temporary (I'm still waiting for it to go away...), faster growing hair and toenails, and a changed sleep cycle, some for the better, some for the worse albeit another temporary change. And a change in appetite. Not bad.

Aspirin gives me a nose bleed, every single time I take it. Ibuprofen gives me a belly ache and spasms, several days worth, Tylenol makes me nauseated. The most benign over the counter meds cause me more grief than LDN. What is wrong with this picture???

There's another side effect... your hair and nails will start to grow faster than ever before.. oh, I'm sorry... "in some people"

Oh, right, that's not harmful.. unless you're prone to ingrown hairs, I guess.

I used to like shaving every 4 days "whether I needed it or not". Now I have to shave every other day. I don't mind my finger nails, but my toe nails are a pain the back to keep cutting. I can't recall, but I don't think I used to cut my toe nails all that often, not as often as I have to do now.

---When I started LDN 12/03. I got my 4.5mg from a local Phamacy,

that compounded it as a favor. First 3 months very litle stiffness or

improvement. Then I switched to Skips in Fla. I had Stiffness, and I

could tell it was working! Now I notice improvement day by day.

I have never tried Provigil but my doc. just did a complete blood work test on me and nothing has been comprimised at all, he did find that I am possibly a diabetic (which explains alot too me) but I sure can'y blame that on my six months of Lowdosenaltrexone use, and yes I shave every three days now instead of four too. I like the fact my fingernails grow faster, as I still chew them a lot.

Hello. I've been monitoring the posts for the past several weeks. My wife has an upcoming appointment with neuro who supposedly prescribes LDN for MS patients. Though I'll certainly ask the doctor this question, I'm hoping some of you may be able to respond with some information about any harmful (or just unpleasant) side effects of the LDN therapy. I recently 'heard' that one neuro expressed concern about the possibility of cardio toxicity (this is a new one for me). Thanks in advance for your kind response/s. By the way, has LDN proven as effective for fatigue as provigil?
