Guest guest
Does anyone of you have this experience? At first I had the same thing for a while " old " problems returned. Now I'm quite confi with the dose (2,5). No side effects anymore, or is there? My right leg was always the best one. Now my left leg has improved a lot, but my right leg has worsened and that never happend before. Also my left hand is improving and right hand worsening. Strange huh? Guest guest
Chey, I am having similar problems with the legs. It falls in with the reversal that others mentioned as problems with the left leg came after problems with the right. Guest guest
I would suggest emailing Dr. Druker about this issue and may be also pass his email on to your Dr so he could correspond with him. But I would definitely get some answers. Do not think you need to live with this level of pain. Hi everyone, It's me again with more questions. Earlier tonight I was having excruciating pain all over my body. It was mainly from my neck to my tailbone and also in my legs. I was in so much pain, I was crying and having chills. Is this a normal side effect of Gleevec. I don't take it with my other meds anymore. I take it with my evening meal and I drink a 20 ounce bottle of wather with it when I take it. I can't stand this pain anymore! I am feeling better after taking 2 darvocets and a vicodin about an hour after the darvocet. My neck and back still feel very stiff though. I would appreciate any input or advice on what I can do to deal with this. Thanks so much,
Guest guest
Dear , Please discuss this with your doctor. You should not have to live with that kind of pain. There has to be some other answers for you. We are here for you . Let us know what Dr Druker tells you. God's Blessings, Jackie S. From: anita <awristen1@...> Subject: Re: [ ] side effects??? Guest guest
I had bone paid when I was first on Gleevec too. And that is what I understood.that the gleevec was working. Let's hope Sharon _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of bethgalliart@... Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 3:56 PM Subject: Re: [ ] side effects??? , I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I've been thinking about your e-mail all day. I wonder if indeed the absorption of the Gleevec was being hindered by the other drugs you were taking all at the same time (I think I remember you mentioning that your absorption test showed no Gleevec in your system)? Maybe now that you are taking The Big G by itself it is having the opportunity to kick butt and take no prisoners. Maybe the bone pain you are experiencing is the Gleevec getting into the marrow and blowing up the bad CML cells? I have no idea if this is the case, but I do know when I started the Ariad trial I went through excruciating bone pain myself. In between taking pain meds and feeling sorry for myself, I visualized the drug blowing up bad cells in my marrow and likened it to the pain of multiple explosions going on in my bones. It did get better for me after about 3-4 days...hopefully that will be your experience...once your body adjusts you will start feeling better. In any event, I'm sure others have much better advice, but I wanted to throw this out there. Take good care of youself and I hope it gets better for you. Beth [ ] side effects???
