Guest guest
This same thing happened to me, too. Attack in 1979, remission, then progression beginning in 1990 when my mother had a stroke paralyzing her on her left side. She had been living with us, and I was trying to take care of her when my right side started to give me problems. My doctor told me that the trauma probably brought on the progression. Guest guest
Yes that does seem to be a common factor around here Almost everyone I talk to or know (even my sister in law who died two years ago) had some traumatic event set off the m.s. With my brother it was getting shot between the eyes with a twenty two calibre bullit. Good thing it was a richochet and that he got hit right on the bar of his eyeglasses, he still got whiplash and two big shiners out of it.I guess I could believe in gaurdian angels right about then. Hell until my accident I was running all over the place and wieghed 175 lbs. Now I don't even know how to crawl and wiegh 210 lbs. It just makes for a louder boom when I fall ...LOL ) I don't really know if I am SPMS or PPMS all I know is that I am still able to walk even if it is only twenty feet and with a cane. And I never have what others call exacerbations( I hate that word it sounds so dirty) but then I don't have relapses or remissions either, just kinda one way, down hill all the way, you know what I mean. I think L.D.N. is slowing the progression and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it has my bladder problems fixed while I am taking it so I will be on it for a very long time to come. Guest guest
Reg: Am I interpreting you correct, both your brother and sister in law had MS ?. Just curious, wondering if this is suggestive of an infection ?. Guest guest
that bullet story you told was very frightening..yeah i guess you would have to belive in gaurdian angels after that..a brush that close with death could really lay you out emotionally...i had a tramatic event emotionally with stress right before my first ms attack.i would even call it the most stressfull time ive ever had..then bam, half my body went numb =hm --- In low dose naltrexone , " Reg Kreil " <regkreil@h...> wrote: > Yes that does seem to be a common factor around here Almost everyone I talk > to or know (even my sister in law who died two years ago) had some traumatic > event set off the m.s. Guest guest
Reg, not to mention, a possible terrific ad campaign for the manufacturers of those eye glasses?? Seriously though, he's a very fortunate man.
