Guest guest
Hello Everyone!! I have been in here a coupple of times, and I appreciate Harper's reply. My daughter-in-law (22 yrs. old) was diagnosed with AIH last year. I have been reading some of this sites news when I get a chance. My question is.... seems to feel okay, she has begun working ( and LONG HOURS!: ), she is tired, but that is about the only symtom, will she get worse or will her liver stay the same?? The doctor said we caught it in the early stage and the liver isn't damaged very much. I have been reading some of the things you are going through, (and I am sorry you are having to); but I don't know whether we need to expect things like this or not. I know I am talking in circles, and I am sorry....that's me!! lol You are all in my prayers and I wish the best for you. Sincerely, Beckie wrote:
Guest guest
Hi Beckie. I do not think there is a definite answer to your question. My understanding is that even with treatment, AIH can progress and continue to damage the liver. Each person varies with his/her response or lack of response to treatment. Hopefully, close monitoring of your daughter-in-law's condition will enable her to find the treatment that is most appropriate for her. Perhaps someone else will be able to provide you with greater information. Take care. Carol bgrant ham wrote: Hello Everyone!! I have been in here a coupple of times, and I appreciate Harper's reply. That is a MAJOR change is weather! We have had delightful weather here in Calif. Tomorrow, I even thought of going outside and pulling the weeds around the pool. The temp was about 65 today. Hope it is like that tomorrow. Have not looked at the forceast. Just know that as long as we have a High over us, the winds in LA will keep blowing, so I know they are wishing for a change of weather. I will keep bundled up if it gets cold, but not much chance here! I know there is a bad bug going around and I did have my flu shot, but I think a lot of my illness has been from going in and out of the hosptial! ALso, my kids at school have been coughing and sneezing all over me....so it IS good that the doctor told me to stay home...The one bad thing, though, is that I have no more sick leave, but my hubby is wonderful and is not worried! Thanks for the encouragement! debby Re: [ ] Went to the doctor tonight Debby - Have heard that there is a big flu bug running around! Everyone keep bundled up and STAY healthy. Temp here changed here in Cleveland from 58 degrees yesterday at 1 p.m. to a blizzard, 20 degrees, and 3 1/2 inches of snow starting at 9 p.m. Talk about shifting weather and an easy way to get sick Rest up Debby and I hope you feel better. Guest guest
Sorry to send a second email on the same subject (Also, sorry Louis, forgot to include you in my Thanks the first time, Thanks for your response as well) Will Thank Quinlisk & Brault at this juncture as well (other and Colin will have to settle for the previous exchange of niceties =-P ) , Looks like you've got all your bases covered there, though I may have lost some in translation (probably formatting issues with the email). Assuming you're starting with be alert, concern with your own safety, then danger to you and others (Sustem?). The rest is pretty clear. Thanks for another take (as a mildly rectal retentive amateur semanticist I'm always getting into these sort of things much deeper than I need to, but the result tends to be I know things others don't, which is always useful (plus I do share =-) Q, (promise to catch your movie one of these days) You hit the nail right on the head. It's all about the situation you're in. If I'm there fast enough my priorities change. I've got them all in there, just gonna address them as I see fit to best treat the Pt. The differences between Urban, Rural, Wilderness, Remote, Tactical, Combat, Industrial and other types of EMSing can sometimes lead to differences in how we treat Pts. but overall we have the same goal and the same tools in the box, sometimes we just take them out in a different order. Finally I can't believe you would be so mean to my pal Wilf. I hope he can take the jive. " The Other " (cpfmedic), I wouldn't worry so much about Colin teaching the Fuzz to call for help at that point in the algorithm. They aren't taught the same kind of scene size up techniques as us and tossing it in there may make some of them remember to get on the radio and get an ambulance rolling to take the " aided " off their hands (an aided being someone in need of care, in NYPDspeak). I'm not sure if your Resuscitation Council gets into other aspects of medicine beyond cardiac care (the American Heart Association is big on Stroke care as well, for example, but does nothing for FA/BLS otherwise), but the continuity of the acronym isn't going to hurt anybody. The various letters of any acronym tend to take on multiple meanings in medicine anyway. Colin, Sounds like the arguments we made in NYC when FDNY took the NYPD frequencies out of our radios (for Txmitting at least... can still listen in if your partner will leave his radio on your appropriate EMS channel). FDNY EMS brass actually tried to say that if EMS personnel on duty witness or come upon a scene needing Police or Suppression response they should call 911 to ensure the fastest possible response. Pretty sure that the times I went over the air on PD freqs and said I need cops here they came mighty quick. Thanks again everybody for the great info/discussion. Have a great weekend and best wishes for the coming year! -bill Bill EMT-B murphquake@...

Assuming you're starting with be alert, concern with your own safety, ++++++++++++++++++ The self is to remind one of the reflex of self preservation i.e. DANGER... safety mine but also others then danger to you and others (Sustem?). +++++++++++++++ Others is the alert Bystanders AND the system 911, fire, Medevac activation/localisation The rest is pretty clear. Thanks for another take (as a mildly rectal retentive amateur semanticist I'm always getting into these sort of things much deeper than I need to, but the result tends to be I know things others don't, which is always useful (plus I do share =-) +++++++++++++ I like my little jingle (of course!!!))))) But can and have numerous times tought the other one(s) Much more important getting every body on the same track Than using the " BEST " nemotecnic jingle (Mine off Course... perhaps not) I am just as flexible with hand placement for CPR (US vs french) Or the Abdominal trust versus chest trust for unconscious airway obstructions Hey ! ! ! Must be the season ! ? HO ! HO ! HO ! Back to the ABCs The fun when doing advanced training Is repeating the ABCs Double checking But improving on : The Alert - Self DANGER Is this Pt contagious ? (always a la te consideration) Self Others Where's the Medevac, Topside, HSE, etc Pt AVPU is your combitubed Pt unconscious ? Is he going to become conscious ??? What's your plan if this happens ? - Proper, safe ex-combitubation OR Sedation (Prefilled seringe Benzo, pre-medicate Pt) .... depends on scenario Airway ? Check from O2 bottle to Pt's last alveole (NG tube, HME) Breathing Ventilation rate (STOP Hyperventilating, avoid high vent pressures) Circulation IV acces etc GTG
Guest guest
70 degrees? That's hot. I live in Alaska and keep my house around 65-67 degrees. If I can sprout, anyone can. Perhaps colder is better. I never have any problems with bugs, etc. Goodluck Stacey Stacey Orlov Bliss Massage Therapy Balance Personal Training PO Box 243536 Anchorage, Alaska 99524 907.229.3879 On Jan 4, 2010, at 3:18 AM, wrote: Share your knowledge and ask questions a Messages In This Digest (25 Messages) 1a. sprouting in a cold house From: Karron Lynn Lane 1b.
