Guest guest
I went to get blood drawn because ive been on synthroid now for 7 weeks and go to the endo next week. My dr gave me a copy of my ultrasound results. I'm not sure of all the findings or the importance of any of it, i just know i have nodules. what do you gather from it? History: 30 yo w/ hypothyroidism Findings: Real time examination demostrates normal size of both thyroid lobes and abnormal echotexture with heterogeneity. Bilateral small lower pole echogenic nodules. The right lobe measures 3.9x1.4x1.9 cm. Moderate hetergeneity of the echotexture. The left lobe measures 4.5x1.7x1.7 cm with simalar moderate heterogeneity of the echotexture. In the left thyroid lobe there is a dominant nodule. This is hyperechoic and measures 1.5x1.3x1.3 cm with a smoothly margainated capsule. A similar but smaller hyperechoic nodule which is smoothly marginated and appears to have sonolucent interface between the adjacent thyroid lobe measures .4x.5x.5cm. Impression: 1. Normal sized thyroid lobes with diffuse heterogeneity of the echotexture. 2. Solid inferior pole nodules with the left thyroid lobe measuring 1.5. I would like to be a little more educated before i go to the endo appt next week. any thoughts or concerns?
