Guest guest
Tom, Im sorry you've been ill, please take it easy and dont worry about me till you feel better. You wouldnt believe the trouble im having with doctors, they are always quoting the law and when I mention to write a script for me as an alcoholic - they are horrified that i even suggested it. My Neuro will see me in the distant future - like, 5th of August - as she is booked out until then, but at the same time, all doctors are saying to me, 'Do you realise that a prescription costs $AU200?' and I say, Im a disability pensioner, its on the subsidy scheme, they say, no its not. So, they expect me to believe that low income earners or social security people can pay that sort of money in this country? Please, Tom, in your own time, and when you are feeling better, I would appreciate just a small statement on your specialist's letterhead paper, confirming LDN is being prescribed, successfully benefiting his patients, and not harmful, etc, - I'd appreciate the support. First things first though, get better, Regards Friday > Friday > > Sorry, Friday, but I have been quite ill the last few days. But I am looking forward to seeing my neuro on May 11 and starting on LDN. Was I supposed to try and get a letter for you from him saying he was prescribing LDN to some of his patients? > > Sorry I forgot, but when I have a session like this last one, I tend to forget a lot of things. > > Tom from Edmonton
Guest guest
Tom, That's a great idea - very helpful reference for people - how many doctors and neuro's are willing to have their name there though? Cause, here in Australia, there are very very secretive and treat it as fraudulent and illegal to prescribe it off-label. I went into my doctor, and told her I have an alcohol problem - severe cravings and can I be prescribed Naltrexone as I heard it was successful - she said, no, first of all, we have to book you in to a detox clinic, and counselling, etc, then you can start the treatment - I left there in tears of laughter, thinking - I cant even get it on the spot as an alco - their still giving me a hard time and sending me on a wild goose chase. I tell you what? I sooooooooo over it, I dunno what to do next. Friday > > Friday > > > > Sorry, Friday, but I have been quite ill the last few days. Guest guest
I went to see a new doctor and tried to convince him I was an alcoholic. I didn't get anywhere. I'm not used to lieing to doctors so I return to see this doctor to tell him why I tokld him a lie. He said he understood but still wouldn't give me naltrexone. Next I tried a vetenairian (because drugs are tested on animals) but him told me he didn't have naltrexone/ReVia on his list of medecin he ca prescribe. Keep searching and don't stop triying to find a doc.
