Guest guest
My wife never had asthma until she turned 52. When temperatures dropped below 55 she would develop pneumonia and her asthma worsened. She is on a variety of meds..Pulmicort, Nasonex, Singulair, Zyrtec and a resuce inhaler. She is the only person on the Xolair board who tried Xolair and it made her worse. Her peak flow numbers were never really as bad as everyone elses and her allergy index number wasn't all that high compared to everyone else. She was really a borderline call to be placed on Xolair. We moved from Granite City, IL, which has the dubious distinction as being the most polluted city (steel mill) in southern IL. In June we moved to Port St. Lucie, FL and our home is about 4 miles from the ocean. My wife has gone from 6 puffs of Pulmicort a day to just 2 and she has not used her rescue inhaler since we've been here. I believe that there is something about the salt air and the lack of pollution here that has made all the difference, not to mention the biggest plus, wonderful year-round temperatures.
