Hi Ash - Many years ago, my father was involved in a drug study for a new drug for Parkinson's disease. It was a wonder drug for him, and he stayed on it after it was approved by the FDA. Several years later, we learned about some of the effects of long-term use firsthand, because he was one of the few who had taken the drug the longest. I think the answer to your question - I'm speaking in general terms, not Xolair specific - is that no one can really know, because no one has been on it long-term. Only more time will begin to give us those answers. Best wishes, Joyce
Guest guest
I don't know about the long term effects of Xolair but I do know about the long term effects of Prednisone. With osteoporosis, acid reflux, weight gain, high blood pressure, and thin skin - I'll take my chances with the Xolair! It certainly can't be much worse.
