Guest guest
I also wondered if it won't be better for insurance companies in the long run to support Xolair. I'll be mine pays somewhere between $500 and $700 a month to cover RX costs, doctor's visits and allergy shots as it is. Also, where I live, the average cost of an ER visit by a patient needing treatment for asthma is $3500. I get my 2nd round of shots (# 3 and #4) on Wednesday. Guest guest
Actually, I added up the cost my asthma treatments as well, and came up with something in excess of $1,000 per month for STANDARD treatments (i.e., meds) not including the ancillary costs of frequent severe illness, etc. I had a 10-day all expense paid vacation in the hospital about 5 years ago that was well in excess of $10,000. So you're right - if Xolair can help prevent this, we are ALL better off in the long run. Good luck with your next shots. Hope you're breathing easy.
