Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I just stumbled upon this group while searching the internet for information on Xolair. I receive my first injection this upcoming Tuesday (after waiting since March for the financial arrangements to fall into place), and while I'm hopefully optimistic that this medication will help me, I am also afraid to begin the shots as I don't tolerate many medications very well. I have been asthmatic since 1986, when I came down with a serious case of mycoplasmic pneumonia and didn't receive proper treatment for it. Through the years my asthmatic condition has gotten worse, and I have become somewhat housebound because of this disease, as I react violently to chemical odors, perfumes, animals, grasses, flowers, trees, mold, cigarette smoke, etc. (you get the picture). I couldn't even tolerate the skin testing for my allergies, as I had a horrific asthma attack a few minutes after being injected with the allergens for mold and grasses. I currently take Advair, Xopenex (via a nebulizer), Accolate, Allegra and Prednisone on a daily basis. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to reassure me as to the possible (probable) side effects I can incur after receiving my first injection. Thank you!
