Guest guest
I am a 48 (49 next week) year old CHRONIC asthmatic and have had problems breathing all my life. I don't have " attacks " I have asthma every day and have to nebulize every 4 to 5 hours. I have been on every asthma drug under the sun with " ok " results. The only thing that has really helped is high doses of prednisone and all the inhalied steroids. This has been quite expensive even with my medical insurance. Co payments. UGH! The prednisone has given me pre mature cataracts and all the other side effects. I had cataract surgery at age 40. I can't be on pred all my life. It is just not good for the rest of my body. When Xolair came out, my allergist jumped at the chance to get me on it. I had my first injection a month ago and have had 3 more since. So far so good. I am still on my neb machine with albuterol, atrovent and pulmacort, and advair twice a day. The Xolair seems to be working. My breathing is about 50% better now
