Guest guest
Doug.. Sorry to hear you have gotten the flu..hope you are better soon. My wife got her first Xolair injection today and all went well. Her doctor, Mark Stein, was one of the doctors who participated in the study so he is pretty knowledgeable. Just hoping that she can cut back on the Pulmicort and Nasonex. Compared with the severity some of you describe, her asthma doesn't seem bad. I don't understand all of the jargon but to qualify to use Xolair you have to have a score of 40 or higher. She has 58 but Dr. Stein said some people score 800, so she is just borderline eligible. We live in southeast Florida but a cold front is going through and my wife has a major problem with cold weather (55 degrees or less. Luckily temps in the 40's are rare here and only last a couple of days. Her resistance has been so low that even that scares us because once she gets the chronic cough it lasts for months. Here's hoping Xolair will help. Good luck to all of you Xolair users. Casey
