Guest guest
My wife got her third shot Friday and she feels worse instead of better. The same thing happened on the second shot but she thought she needed to give it more time. However, her chest felt tighter, more congestion and cough. It took almost three weeks from the second shot to get to feeling relatively good again, then the third shot came. Her asthma and allergies weren't all that bad to start with and I feel she was a marginal candidate for Xolair from the start. But her doctor was affiliated with the trials and encouraged her to try it with the eventual hope of getting off Pulmicort, Nasonex, Zyrtec and Singulair. She was actaully reducing her usage of Pulmicort before she started on Xolair (six puffs to four daily) after moving to Florida from the north. You would think that each shot of Xolair would make her feel better, if just a little, rather than worse...so the Xolair is history for her. Good luck to the rest of you for which Xolair is making a big disfference for the better. Casey

It HAS helped me get my daily dose of Prednisone down from 40 to 10 mg a day but a lot ot times, I still have to up my Pred due to increases in asthma. I have have been under the care of 2 different doctors since I have been on Xolair. Both have told me that it is not an instantanous drug for some people and sometimes takes up to a whole year before the full effects are felt. Hang in there and follow your doctor's instructions. Guest guest
Casey, Sorry to hear that the Xolair is not working for your wife. It is unfortunate that the drug is not a miracle worker for everybody. It is clear from reading the postings that there has been a wide range of improvement and reactions to the drug among the members of this forum. Good luck to your wife on finding a treatment that works for her. Greg
