Guest guest
Been arguing with for a week now - for some reason they cancelled my mail account. Don't know why - I'm not a spammer or anything. I think what happened was I was out of town for a week, and speaking of spam, my mailbox would fill up every day or so. I think the mailbox got too full and they killed it. The good news is that we spent a week in Florida (Disney, etc) with NO ASTHMA SYMPTOMS AT ALL. Incredible. I am sorry to hear that Doug is not responding quickly to the Xolair. It has been a miracle for me. I'm able to work out pretty vigorously and am also now doing the South Beach diet to try to lose some of the prednisone weight gain. So far I'm down about 5 lbs the first week. I think that as more and more stories about the effectiveness of Xolair come out, there will be a great deal of pressure to find a way to bring the price into the affordability range of more people. As we can all attest to, the potential for reducing or eliminating E.R. visits is worth the price of the medication. I'm supposed to go for my next shot tomorrow, but we are expecting a major ice storm tonight, so it will have to be delayed. I am interested to see if my Dr. will hold true to his word that they will start training me to do my own shots. It would be good if he does, if for no other reason than weather delays like this. Regarding the gentleman who asked about Xolair side-effects - the only side-effects I had was itching and some acne for about a week. Since then it has gone away with no recurrence. I do recall that when I was on high doses of prednisone I would have vision problems if I ate anything with a lot of sugar in it. Good luck and clear breathing.
