Guest guest
Today I prepped the Xolair and gave myself my own shots under my Dr's supervision (actually, one of the nurses). Next month I am going to give the shots to myself at home. It's a piece of cake. With the exception of the potential risk for damaging the drug in shipment or handling, there is no big deal with regarding self- administration. My Dr. did say that I am the first of his patients who is doing the injections myself. Regarding the cost of the Xolair, my insurance company gets it through Caremark at a cost of around $925 for 300 mg. Since I am now giving it to myself, I will reduce the cost of the Dr's visit to myself and my insurance company, reduce the travel / scheduling hassle to get to my Dr., and have seen significant improvement in my symptoms. This should make my insurance company very happy. I know I am very happy. Good luck and clear breathing to all of you. Greg
