Guest guest
Greg, I was interested in your post about inflammation. I'm the ONLY asthmatic in my family and I haven't been able to figure it out. A few months ago, though, I realized that all the women on my mother's side for about 4 generations back have had arthritis. I'd love someone to do a genetic study on my family. I've been wondering if one side of my family has some sort of inflammatory gene and that somehow, mixed with my dad's DNA, I came out with asthma as an inflammatory response. I'm also the only one who's allergic to any real degree. oh, by the way, how's your wife doing? I think I remember you telling us she's pregnant (hopefully I'm not mistaking you with someone else!) Hopefully the cost of Xolair will go down as it becomes more widely available as a treatment for other allergic processes. I also hope the mechanism of delivery will be simpler, like having the serum come premixed. Who knows. FYI I had to attend a meeting today in the upper story of a county building. Room musty and must have had mold b/c within 10 minutes my nasal passages were blocked and I had a headache. More than three hours later I'm still trying to get my allergic response under control. Chest tight. I started out at a deficit b/c of the change in the barometric pressure overnight, so I'm not happy. Not reaching for pred, though...keeping my fingers crossed. Take care all, Addy
