Guest guest
I agree with Doug 100%, my doc actually did some research on xolair when it was first being tested and he showed me the research studies and then was just laughing about the fact that xolair causes cancer. THis is because there were so many different forms of cancer found in the trial studies that he said " if they are going to say xolair causes cancer, they might as well tell us not to breathe " My doc knows that xolair works on many people and i am hoping i will be one of them once the fight with my insurance stops. i think that like you said people are worried and mad they did not discover this drug and allthough its expensive i have a feeling in the long run, if you add everything up it might end up being cheaper than taking all of the meds many of us are on. > Evidently, they don't want any other opnions because the link to > respond does not work. Guest guest
Hi Doug, In the double blind placebo study there was a minuter higher incidence of cancer among the people in the Xolair group. But I also remember reading (somewhere) that severely allergic people have a lesser chance of getting cancer. So taking away there allergy would indeed bring back their chance of getting cancer to a 'normal' (higher) level. So it might be more wise to compare the amount of cancer cases among xolair users to people that don't have allergies by nature...and see how the balance shifts. It might well be that the chance of developing cancer becomes 'normal' with xolair and not higher. Regards, Edgar > 1. Guest guest
The reason the package insert refers to Cancer is that when a drug gets an approval it has to include anything that happenes to subjects in the study used to gaining approval. Bloddy nose etc.... It doesn't mean that Xolair causes cancer.
