Guest guest
Yesterday my poor dog was diagnosed with a bad ear infection brought on by...wait for it...allergies! She got a cortisone shot, ear wash and a topical antibiotic! She is feeling better already - felt like playing last night. She will get the ear wash daily while she is on the antibiotic and then weekly after that to try to prevent build up. Sound familiar to anyone? We're having amazing weather. I hope all of you are well. I don't do yoga.
Guest guest
Yep, dogs show allergies in their skin, including the lining of their ears! Food allergies will also make them itch or give them itchy ears but thankfully true food allergies are as rare in dogs as they are in people. It is really weird to have a dog allergic to ragweed and see them scratch and itch instead of get a runny nose or wheeze. I asked the vet if they could have cromolyn sodium in their ears<vbg> but apparently their allergies don't work the same way ours do. Since we have moved to the northwest part of the state. the pollen is not as bad. That little 7 pound chihuahua was taking the same amount of pred as I was for a few days. 5 MG WIERDDDDDDDDDDDD!
